The SmallRig 5823 Cage Kit is the ultimate solution for filmmakers using the Sony FX3 and FX30. This compact handheld rig offers professional V-mount battery power and allows you to keep your setup both stable and lightweight. With its foldable V-mount battery plate, this kit is designed to be easy to transport and rig, no matter where your shoots take you. Modular NATO Rail and Top Handle

With a modular NATO rail on top of the kit, you can easily attach SmallRig's NATO top handle as well as monitor mounts. If needed, you can remove the NATO rail to use Sony's original XLR top handle. It is important to note that the NATO rail uses 1/4"-20 threaded holes with a spacing of 27 mm, making it incompatible with accessories that require an 18 mm spacing.

Multiple Accessory Mounting Options

The cage offers a range of mounting points to expand your rig. There are several available 1/4"-20 threaded holes and positioning holes for attaching smaller accessories. Additionally, there are 3/8"-16 ARRI positioning holes for ARRI-compatible accessories. To enhance the camera's functionality, the cage has a built-in cold shoe mount that can hold microphones or small lights.

Base Features and Quick Release Compatibility

The base of the cage is equipped with a QD connector for quick-detach (QD) shoulder straps, allowing for faster transitions between handheld and shoulder-mounted work. A magnetic flat wrench is included, making installation and adjustments in the field easier. The integrated Arca-Swiss quick release plate on the bottom ensures that the cage is compatible with Arca-type tripods and gimbals such as DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, and RS 4 Pro, allowing for smooth transitions between handheld, gimbal, and tripod.

Cable Management and Ergonomics

The kit includes an HDMI cable clamp that keeps cable connections in place and ensures stable data transmission. The ergonomic top handle with a non-slip silicone coating provides a comfortable grip for longer handheld recordings, enhancing the user experience.
