Television Studio Pro HD is a picture mixer with a total of eight inputs and a control panel with buttons for changing pictures. The different functions allow it to be used in many different TV productions or AV installations.

The mixer has eight camera inputs that are divided into four HDMI and four SDI connections. Cameras with a resolution of up to 1080p60 can be connected. The unit is a rack unit high and 2/3 wide and can be rack mounted with the Rack Shelf accessory (purchased separately).

Image exchange via the control panel

The control panel has two rows of buttons for the different inputs. You can select the source via the preview or program buttons. The slider lets you determine the speed of the transition between the inputs. The joystick also lets you control some of the camera's functions.

Built-in screen

The built-in screen shows the image signal and sound level. The screen also shows the menu where you make all settings if you do not have a computer connected to the mixer.

Sound mixer

With the built-in sound mixer, you can activate and adjust the sound level from the incoming camera signals. There are also two analog XLR inputs on the mixer that can be used to send in sound from, for example, an external mixer table. If you activate the "Audio follow video" function, the sound source is activated at the same time as you switch to the incoming camera signal. On the control panel you can adjust the various inputs with physical controls. The panel has four LEDs for each input that show the strength of the incoming audio signals.

Multi-View

If you connect a monitor to the mixer via the SDI or HDMI output, you will see the incoming camera signals as well as the preview and program output. The multi-viewer also displays sound bars for the current sound level.

Picture-in-Picture

Picture-in-picture can be activated on one of the inputs. This allows you to reduce the size of one of the camera inputs and place it on top of another image, for example in one of the corners of the image.

Intercom

If you use Television Studio HD together with cameras from Blackmagic Design and connect two SDI cables between the mixer and the cameras, you get access to tally and intercom solution. The manufacturer and camera operators can talk to each other and a light on the camera indicates when it is selected as the active image source.

Mediabank

20 images can be stored in the built-in media bank. These can then be displayed in one of the two media players. An example is if you want to display predefined nameplates or a logo in the upper corner of the image.

AUX output

With the AUX output, you can send a separate picture signal via SDI connection. This is useful if, for example, you want to send a separate signal to a projector or a pure image signal for recording.
