Panasonic LUMIX BS1H Cinema 6K Box Camera
The LUMIX BS1H is a versatile box camera that combines cinema-quality video performance with the LUMIX S1H in the easy-to-use profile. LUMIX BS1H has a 24-megapixel full-frame sensor with Dual Native ISO technology, 6K recording, impressive bokeh, high performance in low light, wide dynamic range of 14+ stops V-Log and more. With strong connection capacity and mobility, users can flexibly build BS1H into their ideal camera system. The consistent appearance of the image minimizes post-production when other Panasonic LUMIX production cameras such as the BGH1, a Micro Four Thirds camera or the S1H, a full-frame mirrorless camera, are used together.
Video production of High Quality Film with 35mm Full-frame sensor
The BS1H includes a 24.2 megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor (35.6mm x 23.8mm) that captures 6K resolution. Adopting an OLPF (low pass optical filter) suppresses moire and false color. Time sensor with Dual Native ISO in BS1H minimizes noise generation by selecting an optimal circuit to be used according to the sensitivity before gain processing. In combination with optimal signal processing of the Venus engine, it guarantees a maximum ISO of 51200 in high-sensitivity recording with minimal noise. BS1H maximizes the use of the pixels in the full-frame image sensor and supports recording in 6K / 24p, 5.4K / 30p (3: 2 aspect ratio) or 5.9K / 30p (16: 9 aspect ratio).
It provides 10-bit 60p 4K / C4K HEVC video recording when using the image area equivalent to Super 35mm. 4: 2: 2 10-bit 4K30p can be recorded in H.264 throughout its surface. Its high-resolution data can also be used to create 4K images with higher image quality or to crop images in 4K. LUMIX BS1H delivers 14+ stops dynamic range in V-Log, which is basically the same as in Panasonic Cinema Cameras, to accurately reproduce everything from dark to light areas. It imports the famous colorimetry from the VariCam series of cinema cameras. V-Log provides a very flat image while maintaining all color information in the image. The CMOS sensor for LUMIX BS1H achieves a wide color gamut called V-Gamut, which is BS1H's optimal color space that is wider than BT.2020. V-Log has properties reminiscent of negative film and V-Gamut delivers a color space that is even larger than film.
In addition to HDR (High Dynamic Range) video recording, the camera records video with assigned gamma curve compatible with ITU-R BT.2100, and the user can select Hybrid LogGamma (HLG) in Photo Style. LUMIX BS1H also provides real-time subject detection with advanced development technology to set the exact focus of the object, such as humans and animals, even if they are moving fast.
Large Number of Recording Formats, Frame Frequencies and Resolutions
LUMIX BS1H can send 4:2:2 10-bit 4K 60p / 50p display its HDMI output. By adopting a new heat dispersion structure, it achieves unlimited video recording in various recording formats, including 4:3 anamorphic mode, to meet professional needs. In addition, BS1H provides more alternatives to the extensive creative needs. [5.9K] / [4K] / [Anamorphic (4: 3) 3.5K] 12-bit RAW video data can be output over HDMI to save Apple ProResRAW on Atomos Ninja V or save Blackmagic RAW on BlackmagicVideo Assist 12G HDR.
VFR (Variable Frame Rate) allows users to record "overcranked / undercranked" video in C4K / 4K 60fps and FHD 180fps. Minimum frame rate for "quick motion" video is 2fps. In addition, HFR (high frame rate) video with audio is also recordable even when using autofocus. A variety of effects are available to produce a slow motion video through the post-production process.
Wide Range of Connections for Unlimited Opportunities
With the body frame consisting of aluminum and magnesium alloy, the LUMIX BS1H is a compact and lightweight yet durable box-style camera and provides a host of practical ports. In addition to a USB 3.1 Type-C port, it is equipped with a 3G-SDI (BNC) and an HDMI Type-A, which can be used for simultaneous output. Genlock IN (BNC) and Timecode IN / OUT (BNC) features enable synchronized multi-angle video recording to build a scalable system with external monitors, rigs and gimbals. When connected to a LAN, Power over Ethernet + (PoE +) makes it easy to install both physically and electronically. Control of maximum of 12 sets of BS1H cameras is available with the Panasonic PC software LUMIX Tether for Multicam. BS1H is equipped with a dual SD card slot for backup recording or relay recording. Using the LUMIX S series lens with BS1H provides additional benefits. IS (video) function (image stabilizer) can be used and superior AF/AE control is available when LUMIX S-series lens with OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer) is fitted.
