Differences between HXR-NX80 and PXW-Z90

The PXW-Z90 has an SDI output for use in multi-camera productions, as well as differences in recording codecs.
Autofocus

The camera has a compliant autofocus with 273-point phase detection that covers approximately 84% of the image area. The autofocus can be set to follow people's faces or lock it on an object and then follow it.

Slow-motion

Slow motion can be recorded at up to 120 frames per second continuously in fullHD. With the Super slow motion function, you get access to 1000 images per second.

Handle with XLR connections

The camera handle has two XLR connectors, which allow you to connect professional external microphones. The sound level is easily adjusted with the controls on the side of the handle. The handle also has an extra zoom control that allows you to shoot close to the ground and still have full control over the recording. The handle can be removed, which makes it easier to transport the camera.

Built-in ND filters

Built into the HXR-NX80 are three different ND filters that are easily activated at the touch of a button on the back of the camera. The ND filters limit the light that reaches the sensor, which means that you can work with a larger aperture even outdoors in bright light and thus get a shallow depth of field. The three filters have a value of ND 1/4, ND 1/16, and ND 1/64.

Power supply

The camera consumes approximately 6.1W when recording in XAVC S 4K 2160 / 30p 60Mbps with the LCD screen. This allows you to record for about 155 minutes with the supplied battery NP-FV70A.
