The lens has 22 lens elements in 16 groups, one of which is a Super ED and two ED glass to minimize color bleeding and maximize image quality. The range of 100-400mm focal length provides high flexibility and fits many different situations in both sports and nature photography. Thanks to a weight of 1395g, the lens is easy to carry around and use in handheld photography. Using the lens on a Sony APS-C camera corresponds to the focal length 150-600mm.
