Panasonic AW-RP150G Camera Contol Panel

Overview

The AW-RP150 is the latest model of remote camera controller that is incorporated into Panasonic’s full line of professional PTZ cameras. It has the same extraordinary functions as the models AW-RP120 and AW-RP50 and incorporates notable improvements with respect to them, including a new joystick that is operated with one hand (which controls pan / tilt, zoom or focus functions) and a large LCD touch screen to monitor and select menu settings.

The AW-RP150 is the perfect companion for the UE150 and in fact it is necessary to access all the new features of this camera, such as the HD trim feature. An important improvement in terms of ergonomics and ease of use is the ability of the RP150 to send data directly to AWUE150 cameras that are connected. This includes the configuration of the system, but the most important thing is that the scene files allow to match the cameras quickly and safely.

The new controller can control up to 200 multipurpose cameras via IP and organize them into 20 groups. In the same way, the panel includes 5 serial ports for connection through RS422 ports. At the time of its launch (December 2018), the AW-RP150 will be able to control only the AW-UE150 cameras. In future updates, scheduled for early 2019, the panel will be compatible with Panasonic’s legacy PTZ cameras, such as AW-HE130, AW-HR140, AW-UE70 and AW-HE40.

A rocker switch mounted on the joystick allows you to control the zoom or focus and also features the traditional zoom and focus controls on the side
left. In addition, it has a specific button for adjusting the speed for each control.

The controller has a large 7-inch LCD touch screen with immediate access to the menu, user buttons and status information. Camera monitoring is available thanks to the 3G-SDI input available on the back. Its large screen allows you to store and retrieve predefined settings and tracking memories intelligently.

The unit can be powered with PoE +, eliminating the need for additional wiring for the power supply. In addition, it has a 4-pin XLR connector.
