Compact and modular design
The camera body weighs only 1.75 kg and is made as a small square. This is to make it as modular and customizable as possible, so that you can connect one or more of Canon's accessories such as EVF, EU-V1 and EU-V2. The design makes it easier to transport, and above all to mount it in camera rigs.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Touch AF and Face detection
The Canon EOS C500 Mark II builds on the Dual Pixel CMOS AF which now supports Touch-AF (when compatible monitor is used). This means that you can easily find focus and can switch between several objects during a single shot when you do not choose to drive manually. The EOS C500 Mark II also has face recognition autofocus, giving you additional creative control through automatic recognition and subject-following focus on faces.
Slow-motion
The Canon C500 Mark II can record up to 100/120 fps images per second in 2K (crop). There is a new button (S&F) on the camera body that gives you the ability to quickly access to switch between the different recording modes.
Built-in ND filters
The camera has built-in ND filters in strengths 2, 4, 6 and is also expandable up to 8 and 10 steps (extended), which allows you to get short depths of field even when shooting in bright conditions.
Touch LCD screen
The built-in screen mounted on the handle allows you to select the focus point directly on the screen using Touch AF.
