- Differences between XF400 and XF405

- 4K UHD and Slow motion
- The camera can record in 4K UHD (3840x2160 pixels) at 150 Mbit / s with 50 frames per second progressively. If you choose to go down in resolution to fullHD (1920x180 pixels), you can record slow-motion at 100 frames per second.
Dual Pixel Autofocus
Thanks to Dual Pixel technology, the camera's autofocus is fast and accurate. With the angled touch screen together with the Canon Dual Pixel CMOS AF, you can easily and smoothly decide where the focus should be, the Dual Pixel autofocus then follows the object even if it is moving.
Detachable handle
The detachable handle has two XLR connectors that allow you to connect professional microphones with an XLR connector. With the controls on the handle, you can control the sound level for the different channels individually. The handle also has an extra zoom control which gives you total control over the recording even when you are filming scenes close to the ground.
Built-in ND filters
Built into the XF405 are three different ND filters that are easily activated at the touch of a button on the side of the camera. The ND filters limit the light that reaches the sensor, which means that you can work with a larger aperture even outdoors in bright light and thus get a shallow depth of field. The three filters have a value of ND 1/4, ND 1/16, and ND 1/64.
Power supply
The camera can be powered by the included battery BP-828 or AC adapter CA-946. The BP-828 battery provides approximately 125 minutes of recording time when shooting at full resolution.
Storage media
The material is stored on SD card in MP4 format in one of the two card slots. If you record in the highest resolution with 150 Mbits, about 55 minutes of material will fit on a 64 GB card, if you choose fullHD with 35 Mbits, about 4 hours of material will fit on the card.
