The Sony FX2 takes its place in the Cinema Line with a backlit 33 MP Exmor R™ sensor, BIONZ XR™ processor and up to 15+ steps in S-Log3. Choose from Flexible ISO, Cine EI and Cine EI Quick, get 4:2:2 10-bit internal and 16-bit RAW via HDMI, plus XLR-H1 handles for 4-channel/24-bit audio. Real-time recognition AF with AI, active/dynamic stabilization and anamorphic de-squeeze make the FX2 ready for everything from solo movies to broadcast and livestream.
FX2 oversamples from 7K to 4K, delivering smooth tonal transitions and wide color space via S-Gamut3/S-Gamut3.Cine. Dual Base ISO 800/4000 ensures clean signal in both daylight and low light, while Creator's Cloud/LUT import (up to 16 LUTs) provides consistent looks on-set and in post.
The flat, cage-free design features multiple 1/4-20 mounts, tiltable OLED EVF and Sony's BIG6 interface for quick access to FPS, ISO, shutter, look/ND and white balance. The internal fan and graphite cooling allow for uninterrupted 4K 59.94p recording.
Real-time Recognition AF identifies humans, animals/birds, vehicles and insects. AF Assist, breath-compensation and Focus Map provide precise control. FPS menu provides up to 2.5× slow motion in 4K and 5× in Full HD. With 1.3×/2.0× de-squeeze, you easily monitor anamorphic optics.
With XLR-H1, you get two XLR inputs, 4-channel/24-bit and digital audio interface via MI shoe. Stream up to 4K59.94p via LAN (RTMP/RTMPS/SRT) while recording locally. Dual cards support SD UHS-II and CFexpress Type A for high bitrate jobs.
A dedicated STILL/MOVIE switch saves settings per mode. Still image log mode and LUT-stamped metadata let photo and video share the same post process - handy for key art and thumbnails that match the film.
