The Sony FX3 gives you a perfect step into the Sony "Cinema Line" - a series of new camcorders for content creators, which brings together all the best of what Sony has to offer in image quality, technology and passion in digital Cine technology. Together with VENICE, FX9 and FX6, FX3 is now forming a quartet in "Cinema Line", which will deliver the very highest Cine quality from cinema screen to documentary film. FX3 will be able to reach a wider audience as it can be combined with both the same technology and look from the other three Cinema line cameras - in a camera body the size of a regular DSLR!
Full-frame sensor with large dynamic range
Sony FX3 has a 4K full-frame backlit CMOS Exmor R sensor that provides 15+ stops dynamic range and an ISO between 80-102 400 that is expandable up to a full 409,600. You can film slow motion by recording in 4K up to 120P to then slow down the post-processing without chopping the film. Thanks to the sensor's fast reading speed, you get minimal rolling shutter. The camera has Sony's most popular image profiles such as S-LOG3 and S-CINETONE to enhance the look of your recording and get your look just the way you want it.
Advanced autofocus with great coverage
Never miss focus with Sony's hybrid autofocus with contrast detection focus combined with focus plane phase detection, you can use Sony's standard options for autofocus or subject tracking, face recognition and real-time eye autofocus. The eye autofocus also works on animals, something that both animal lovers and wilderness photographers can enjoy just as much. In total, the camera has 627 autofocus points that cover about 89% of the image area.
Camera housing for creative creation
The chassis is made of magnesium alloy to provide maximum durability in combination with low weight. This makes it easier when you want to shoot handheld, with or without gimbal. It includes a handle that makes shooting easier and you can also use it to connect professional microphones. Sony FX3 has an angled touch screen that facilitates focus management and settings. The camera has a built-in Anti-dust system, USB-C 3.2 with support for PB and communication options such as Remote Control, Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, FTP and traditional LAN connection.
Maximize recording with CFexpress type A
Sony FX3 has dual memory card slots that you can use with either CFexpress or SD card (recommended V90 video rating). To support all video modes in the camera, you need to use the CFexpress cards. CFexpress is required at the highest recording modes such as slow motion in high resolution.
