Sony FS5, FS5M2 Baseplate

Small and lightweight baseplate is a perfect solutionfor PXW-FS5, FS5M2. It is designed to fit with all the key features of thecamera and is also perfect for drone and gimbal application. At the top of thebaseplate there are rubber pads so that the camera doesn’t sit directly on thealuminum.

The baseplate fits 15 mm standard rods, and the rods are secured witha red ratchet knob screw. On the side, you have ¼-20 threaded holes for mountingoptions. Under the baseplate, we added four (4) ¼-20 and two (2) 3/8-16threaded holes that allow you to attach a tripod plate.

To reduce the weight ofthe baseplate, we removed excess aluminum from the bottom of the plate duringthe machining process. It comes with a pair of Rods to let you add variousSHAPE and third-party accessories compatible with 15 mm rods. With these tworods and with a few fundamental accessories, you can most certainly even beginbuilding your own rig from scratch.

We also designed a removable supportbracket for a METABONES® adapter (FS5MA) that can be added on the baseplate tosupport the weight and remove stress to the camera lens mount. Fixed with 2screws in front of the baseplate, it can be removed when not needed.

(1) ¼-20 and (1) 3/8-16 captive screw are included in this package to secure the camera’s position in translation and rotation so it won’t move. For a precise positioning, we designed the bracket with a 3 mm vertical adjustment to make sure it’s well positioned for the best support. The baseplate includes a set of 15 mm 10 inches rods and is designed with a lightweight system for mounting any standard 15 mm accessories.

Quick Handle Rod Bloc

The SHAPE Quick handle rod bloc is a professional videostabilization accessory with 2 camera handle grips, each providing anindividual rotation angle of 360°. You can attach the handle to the cameraplatform using a simple screw knob. A simple Push-Button located at thearticulation allows easy attachment and removal.

Combined with the anodizedaluminum rod bloc, the quick handle offers composite camera support for all 15mm rods. You can achieve precise positioning by sliding the Quick Handle alongthe rods and tightening the small red knob located on the Rod Bloc. The rodbloc is designed with 2 screw-threaded holes allowing the mounting of the QuickHandle.

SHAPE is well known for its patented Push-button handle, now used by so many professionals in the industry. The technology was developed to give filmmakers quick and easy adjustment. By simply pressing the button, you are allowed a 360-degree rotation to place the handle in the best position for your use. Push, adjust, release, and then its lock.

Composite mini shoulder pad

The SHAPE mini composite shoulder pad is padded forsuperior comfort and is made of slip-free material. It is designed with a 15 mmrod block on top allowing to hold 15 mm rods for camera and accessories to beattached. The screw knob allows attaching SHAPE counter-weight (PAD1, PADCW1).

By adding extra male-female rods at the back, you can also attach a counter-weight behind the same rods. This way, your body can easily support the weight of the camera and its accessories. The shoulder pad is also the perfect solution for switching rapidly from shoulder to tripod without having to remove the shoulder pad. It can remain on the camera rig permanently.

Back pad

The back pad (PAD1) features a powder coated anodized aluminum plate and arm which are attached to a thick padding on the side facing the user. It is compatible with the SHAPE Mini Composite Shoulder Pad (SHPAD3, SHPAD2, SHPAD1) and can be attach or remove easily from your rig via a 1/4-20 camera screw knob. Additionally, the back pad’s position can be adjusted to the user’s preference – up to 2″ vertically and 360° horizontally. The bottom of the back pad is designed with (2) 1/4-20 threaded holes, allowing to attach other accessories or counterweights.

The SHAPE Follow Focus Pro is anindustry workhorse and has already proven itself on countless tough shoots allover the world, so you needn’t worry about it letting you down. SHAPEengineering is internationally renowned and there is one of the most robustmotion picture accessories ever built. 

It mounts on 15 mm rods andfeatures an adjustable arm which puts the gear at the optimal position for thelens, no matter what the diameter is. The unit snaps onto 15 mm rods, allowingfor quick attachment, removal, and repositioning. Two 0.8 pitch gears comeincluded and give you a choice of either 28 teeth or 43 teeth - depending onthe throw distance of the lens.

Additional features include two adjustable hardstops, removable marking disc, and an industry standard accessory port forusing optional whips and cranks. While the Follow Focus Pro contains theessentials for pulling focus on any type of project production, the choice ofeither 15 mm rod adaptors means that you can SHAPE the system to meet yourparticular requirements.
