The Atomos Sumo19 SE combines a bright HDR display with multi-channel recording and professional audio I/O. It records Apple ProRes RAW up to 6Kp30 and supports multi-input ISO recording and live switching, making it useful on a video village or on-set monitoring position. The unit also offers full-sized XLR connectors for balanced audio and 48V phantom power.
The Sumo19 SE features a 19-inch, 1200 nit HDR touchscreen that covers the DCI-P3 (P3) color gamut. It uses 10-bit processing and a 1920 x 1080 panel to deliver accurate, high-bright monitoring in bright or controlled lighting environments. SDI and HDMI I/O provide wide compatibility and include signal cross conversion plus 4K to HD down-conversion where required.
The recorder captures Apple ProRes RAW via SDI at up to 6Kp30 and can preserve sensor data from compatible SDI RAW cinema cameras. It also records:
Atomos lists compatibility with cameras such as the Sony FS series, Canon C300MKII/C500, Panasonic EVA-1 and Varicam LT, among others that output compatible SDI RAW or video signals.
The Sumo19 SE supports live quad-channel HD switching and recording. You can record up to four independent 1080p60 streams simultaneously via 3G SDI (Level A only) as separate ISO files. In addition, it can record a fifth program channel representing your switched feed. You can cue and switch in real time and display the mixed output live via HDMI or SDI. For streaming workflows, you can use an HDMI-to-USB capture device to output the switched feed.
Switching is asynchronous, so the unit does not require locked sources. This allows you to use cameras that lack genlock or timecode inputs while still performing multi-camera switching and recording.
The Sumo19 SE includes two stereo balanced XLR inputs with 48V phantom power. These full-size XLR connectors let you connect external microphones or line-level sources for balanced analog audio recording and monitoring. The unit provides dedicated meters and gain controls, plus frame delay adjustments per channel. Mic or line audio can be synchronized with embedded audio from HDMI and SDI sources.
You can power the Sumo19 SE from AC or use the dedicated battery XLR inputs for continuous power from external batteries. The BattWing mounting bracket is included so you can attach a V-Lock or Gold mount battery of your choice. The unit supports 100 x 100 VESA mounting and includes 3/8” and 1/4”-20 mounting points for flexible rigging and installation.
