The Datavideo HDR-90 is a rack-mountable 1U ProRes video recorder designed for integrated systems such as outdoor broadcast vans. It records UHD 4K video in 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes and provides powerful monitoring and multi-channel recording workflows for live production and post.
The HDR-90 fits into a 1U rack and targets outdoor broadcast vans and other integrated systems. It functions as a 4K ProRes dual-disk recorder while also handling multiple HD camera sources to facilitate live video recording in demanding environments.
The unit records UHD 4K video compressed in 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes. This ensures you capture high-bit-depth, broadcast-friendly files suitable for post-production workflows that require color fidelity and image detail.
The HDR-90 includes a built-in 5-inch touch screen on the front panel. You can configure device settings, monitor live video, and access scopes and calibration tools directly from the screen. The touchscreen simplifies operation in rack environments where space and quick access matter.
These tools are available on the front LCD to help you verify exposure, color, and focus during recording.
The HDR-90 supports multi-channel ISO recording. It can record up to four 1080p60 streams simultaneously to separate ProRes files, with all files synced to the same time code for easier post-production multicam editing. It also supports 3G ISO recording and HD playback.
The recorder supports a range of input and output configurations to match diverse live workflows:
The HDR-90 features balanced analogue audio I/O suitable for broadcast integration:
Audio can be embedded into the video output for playback, making the unit suitable for live event broadcast and monitoring workflows.
Compressed files are stored on two 2.5" SSD drives. The recorder automatically continues recording on the second disk when the first disk becomes full, enabling longer continuous recording sessions. Note: Support is limited to Samsung 860 Pro SSD only.
The HDR-90 includes a built-in vectorscope so you can monitor colour accuracy and saturation of your recorded video directly on the device.
Beyond ISO recording, the HDR-90 can operate like a four-channel HD video switcher. You can display all four sources in a quad view, cue sources, and tap the touch screen to switch between cameras. The program (PGM) output can be used for live streaming or downstream distribution.
The recorder supports closed captions: embedded captions on SDI inputs can be encoded as metadata into recorded .mov files, preserving caption information for downstream delivery and playback.
