Datavideo PTC-285T UHD PTZ Camera — AutoTRACKING with HDBaseT One-Cable Solution

The Datavideo PTC-285T is a UHD PTZ camera designed for live production and streaming. It combines AutoTRACKING, multiple output options and a one-cable HDBaseT solution to simplify installation and control in AV, broadcast and house-of-worship environments.

One-cable HDBaseT and Power Options

HDBaseT lets you send video, control, power and tally over a single Cat6 cable. This reduces cable clutter and simplifies mounting locations.

In addition, the PTC-285T supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) IEEE 802.3at. Therefore you can power the camera via the network cable when your infrastructure supports PoE, avoiding the need for a separate local power outlet.

Reliable AutoTRACKING and Motion Handling

You can access AutoTRACKING directly using the supplied RMC-1 IR remote or with Datavideo controllers and apps. Supported controllers include RMC-300A, RMC-180 MARK II and PTZ View Assist.

Custom Auto Tracking lets you designate a single subject for tracking. Once linked, the camera focuses on that person only, which avoids interruptions from passing people, furniture, or other moving objects.

The camera uses an integrated PID algorithm for Smart PTZ Speed Adaptation. It detects target movement speed and automatically adjusts pan, tilt and zoom speeds to keep lens movement smooth and avoid jerky or halted motions.

Control Flexibility: Serial, IP and App

The PTC-285T supports traditional RS-422 serial control and multiple IP control methods. Choose DVIP or Sony VISCA over IP to integrate with a range of workflows and control systems.

Datavideo’s PTZ View Assist app can monitor and control up to four cameras (PTC-140, PTC-280, PTC-285 and PTC-300 series) simultaneously via DVIP. The app decodes live streams using RTSP, SRT and NDI, and lets you set and recall presets, plus adjust white balance, focus and iris. Datavideo provides free iOS and Android versions on the App Store and Google Play.

Streaming, Dual Stream and Network Protocols

The camera supports dual streaming, enabling simultaneous streams for different CDNs or a local recorder. Use RTSP and RTMPS to stream directly to platforms such as Facebook (RTMPS), YouTube and Datavideo dvCloud. The PTC-285T also supports SRT and other common streaming protocols.

Supported streaming and network protocols include TCP/IP, HTTP, RTSP, RTMP(S), SRT, ONVIF, DHCP and Multicast, giving you flexible integration with encoders, CDNs and production systems.

Image Quality, Low Light and Noise Reduction

The camera employs 3D digital noise reduction to lower noise in low-light conditions while maintaining image sharpness. Combined with its sensor and lens, this helps deliver clear UHD images for streaming and recording.

Multiple simultaneous outputs let you feed local monitors and network workflows at the same time. The PTC-285T supports HDMI 2.0 and IP output up to 2160p at 50/60 fps, and a 3G-SDI output up to 1080p60/50 for traditional broadcast connections.

Practical Production Features

  • Tally lights: green and red tally LEDs indicate preview and program status for broadcast workflows.
  • Wide field of view: an 80° horizontal field of view covers more of the scene for table-top, stage or meeting-room shots.
  • Remote setup and presets: control pan/tilt/zoom in real time and store up to 255 presets for quick recall.
  • Compatible controllers: works with Datavideo PTZ View Assist app, RMC-300A, RMC-180 and other Datavideo control units.

Included Accessories

The package contains the camera and the accessories needed for typical installations:

  • 1 x PTC-285T camera
  • 1 x RMC-1 IR remote controller
  • 1 x Ceiling mount bracket-A
  • 1 x Ceiling mount bracket-B
  • 6 x Ceiling mount bracket screws M3*4mm
  • 1 x DC 12V Power Adaptor
