The Datavideo TP-900 is a turn-key teleprompter system designed specifically for PTZ cameras. It combines a built-in LCD display running dvPrompter Plus with a unique mounting arrangement that allows PTZ cameras to be mounted upside down, removing the usual operational limitations and enabling greater camera movement within the prompter.
The TP-900 uses a unique camera mounting system that allows both horizontal and vertical adjustment. As a result, it supports most PTZ cameras on the market. The adjustable lift and scissor lift parts let you position a PTZ camera as required for live production setups.
You can set the TP-900 on a lightweight tripod or a lighting stand. Alternatively, mount it on a camera tripod and position it wherever you need to produce professional live video. This flexibility makes the TP-900 suitable for live studio work, OB locations, and other on-site productions.
The TP-900 features a bright 15" 4:3 LCD screen (documents also reference 15.3" in some materials) with the dvPrompter Plus teleprompter application built in. Because the software runs on the unit itself, you do not need to run prompter software on a laptop. The display supports the native resolution and brightness listed in the specifications.
You can control and monitor the teleprompter over a local network using any device with a modern web browser. Via Ethernet you can load, reload and control scripts on the TP-900 remotely. The HDMI input also allows the 15" LCD screen to be used as an HDMI monitor with third-party software if required, and the HDMI output can drive external displays.
TP-900 units can synchronize with each other using either HDMI input/output or IP synchronization over Ethernet. This makes it possible to run multiple teleprompters in sync for multi-camera or multi-location workflows.
The built-in dvPrompter Plus includes a rich text editor that supports changing font size, type, colour and justification on a per-script basis. You can use multiple fonts within a single script. The editor also supports embedding images and creating playlists from multiple scripts.
In addition to text scripts, dvPrompter Plus supports importing PowerPoint and Keynote slides via the web interface. Slides can be controlled using the optional WR-500 wired hardware remote or the web-based remote control interface. The software supports seamless switching between text-based scripts and slides, and it can add slides and scripts to a playlist. It also supports mirroring slides in real time so content displays correctly when viewed via mirror glass.
When you pair two TP-900 units in a P2P (Peer to Peer) interview configuration, the interviewer and interviewee can look directly into the camera lens while still seeing an image of each other. This configuration produces natural one-on-one interview style with direct eye contact. As a result, the audience experiences more direct engagement because both participants appear to be looking at the viewer while also seeing each other.
dvPrompter Plus supports real-time editing. You can interrupt a live broadcast with breaking news or urgent updates by modifying the script through the web interface. Changes update immediately on the teleprompter display.
The TP-900 unit includes multi-language support for the dvPrompter Plus interface in the following languages:
