The Hollyland Pyro S-RX is a wireless video receiver designed for professional monitoring. It supports both HDMI and SDI I/O, works with a Pyro S transmitter to deliver video to up to four receivers at once, and maintains a range of up to 400m (1,300 ft) with minimal latency down to 50 ms.
Pyro S-RX pairs with the Pyro S transmitter to enable one-to-four wireless video distribution. This setup suits dynamic shooting scenarios where several crew members need live video feeds, such as film sets, live events, ENG, and EFP productions. The receiver handles simultaneous connections while keeping a stable signal for extra on-set flexibility.
Pyro S-RX uses self-developed 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual-band technology and Auto Dual-Band Hopping (ADH). As a result, it delivers a stable transmission range of up to 1,300 ft (400 m) and achieves latency as low as 50 ms. You can choose between two selectable modes depending on your shooting needs:
Pyro S-RX benefits from ADH, which combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The system also supports Auto Frequency Hopping, so it continuously scans and selects the clearest channel. Therefore, the receiver helps prevent interruptions and reduces the risk of signal drop due to interference or congestion.
The receiver uses omnidirectional high-gain antennas that operate across both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Consequently, the antennas improve directional signal pickup and overall transmission efficiency. In short, Pyro S-RX is built to minimize video drop issues and keep monitoring reliable in challenging RF environments.
Pyro S-RX supports both HDMI and SDI interfaces to fit professional and smaller commercial setups. Specifically, the transmitter side supports one HDMI input and one SDI input, while the receiver provides one SDI output and one HDMI output. This makes it flexible for integration with cameras, monitors, switchers, and recorders.
Pyro S-RX supports 4K at 30 fps transmission, delivering higher clarity and detail for professional applications. Additionally, it supports UVC streaming, enabling plug-and-play compatibility with many computers without needing capture cards or software. For live broadcast workflows, the system also supports RTMP streaming: input your stream key and connect the wireless network card to stream to platforms such as YouTube Live, Twitch, Zoom, and others.
At startup, Pyro S-RX can automatically select a high-quality frequency channel for immediate use. Moreover, the receiver offers a smart channel scan function so you can view real-time frequency status and avoid congested channels. For faster deployment, Pyro S supports preset grouping and pairing to eliminate repetitive manual setup and save time on set.
Pyro S-RX features a magnesium-aluminum alloy shell. Compared to aluminum-only designs, this alloy provides greater stiffness and improved heat dissipation while being lighter. The receiver also includes an efficient cooling system with a three-speed fan adjustment (Auto, Low Speed, Off) to manage temperature and maintain stable transmission during long shoots.
Both transmitter and receiver include a vivid LCD display for clear status monitoring. The screen shows battery level, current group, transmission resolution and frame rate, active channel, and other setting information. Each unit accepts power from an NP-F battery or a DC power source, giving you multiple power options for on-location use.

Question: How many receivers can one Pyro S transmitter support at the same time?
Answer: One Pyro S transmitter can connect to up to four receivers simultaneously, enabling multi-user monitoring for applications like film production, live events, and ENG/EFP work.
Question: What is the maximum transmission range and the typical latency?
Answer: The system supports a transmission range of up to 1,300 ft (400 m) and can achieve latency as low as 50 ms. Mode selection (Smooth or HD) lets you balance distance and image quality for your specific needs.
Question: Which video interfaces and streaming options does the receiver support?
Answer: The Pyro S-RX supports both HDMI and SDI outputs. It also supports 4K30 transmission, UVC for plug-and-play computer connectivity, and RTMP streaming for direct streaming to platforms such as YouTube Live, Twitch, and conferencing services.
Question: How does Pyro S maintain a stable wireless connection in busy RF environments?
Answer: Pyro S uses Auto Dual-Band Hopping (ADH) across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands plus Auto Frequency Hopping. The receiver’s omnidirectional high-gain antennas and smart channel scan further help select the clearest channel and reduce interference for a more reliable signal.
Question: What power and cooling options are available for the receiver?
Answer: Each unit accepts NP-F battery power or DC input, and the receiver features a three-speed fan adjustment (Auto, Low Speed, Off) to regulate temperature and maintain performance during extended use.
