The Kupo CT-20MB Master C-Stand with Turtle Base brings a practical innovation to grip equipment. It uses a patented spring ring locking system that removes tension from the legs so gravity can open and collapse them quickly. As a result, users can set up or break down the base in under two seconds.
The stand’s patented spring ring locking system relieves leg tension during setup. Therefore, gravity does most of the work and the legs open and collapse smoothly. This design speeds up repeated setups on set and reduces effort for the operator.
Because the riser section is removable, the stand qualifies as a turtle base. For transport, you can quickly separate the riser from the base for easier carrying and storage. In addition, you can attach the base to a stand adapter to create a low mounting position when needed.
C Stands are sized by their riser sections. This model is a 50 cm double riser stand. It has two telescoping risers plus one main section, which together provide a total riser length of 1.73 m. Add the base height to that number to determine the maximum overall height in your setup.
The Master C Stand uses a zinc alloy casting for the base. That casting is described as five times stronger than aluminum, which helps the base sustain the weight of heavy sandbags and even the occasional person standing on it. Additionally, all Century Stands feature a base with three varied leg heights. This allows you to stack or nest bases so risers sit close together for tight proximity mounting or compact storage.
The aluminum cast locking collars include a stainless steel heli-coil. This heli-coil protects the aluminum from wear caused by the stainless steel knob stift and adds strength and durability to the locking mechanism. The stand ships in a black finish.

Question: How does the spring ring locking system improve setup speed?
Answer: The spring ring locking system removes tension from the legs so they can open and close under gravity. Consequently, you can open or collapse the base in under two seconds, which speeds up repeated setups on location.
Question: What does "turtle base" mean and why is it useful?
Answer: A turtle base means the riser section detaches from the base. This helps you transport the stand more easily and, when needed, lets you use the base with a stand adapter for low mounting positions.
Question: Can I use this stand for heavy loads and sandbags?
Answer: Yes. The base uses a zinc alloy casting described as five times stronger than aluminum, so it is designed to support heavy sandbags and high loads encountered on set.
Question: Is the column compatible with rolling bases?
Answer: Yes. You can remove the column and attach it to the Kupo Runway Base to create a strong, sturdy, and safe rolling stand for situations that require mobility.
Question: What kind of maintenance or durability features does the stand have?
Answer: The aluminum cast locking collars include a stainless steel heli-coil to protect the aluminum from wear caused by the stainless steel knob stift, improving long-term durability. The stand also includes captive locking T-knobs for secure adjustments.
