The Kupo KCP-200 2-1/2" Grip Head uses a pair of rotating aluminum discs attached to a 5/8" (16 mm) receiver. The discs include four different V-shaped jaws to accept accessories and tubing with 5/8", 1/2", 3/8", or 1/4" mounting studs. This design gives you a secure connection for a wide range of grip and lighting hardware.
The grip head combines aluminum discs with a solid steel central stift and a fixed solid pin that secures the stift to the aluminum casting. As a result, the head balances lightweight materials with strengthened steel components for durability. The unit finishes in chrome plated silver and uses aluminum and steel construction throughout.
The four V-shaped jaws have teeth that grab whatever is mounted between the plates securely. Each jaw shape accepts different stud and tubing sizes, which makes the head compatible with common mounting standards. Therefore, you can clamp studs or tubes reliably and reduce unwanted slipping during use.
The 2-1/2" Grip Head features an oversized ergonomic T handle that provides comfortable hand placement and improved leverage. In addition, the dedicated roller bearings deliver smooth operation and are designed for maximum torque when tightening or loosening the head.
For positive locking strength and precise control, the head uses a non-slip aluminum friction disc that maintains its durability over time. Together, the handle, bearings, and friction disc give you controlled tightening and consistent locking performance.
This grip head is most often used in conjunction with a grip arm. In that setup, you gain complete flexibility to position gobos such as flags, scrims, and silks, as well as other accessories, virtually anywhere on set. In short, the head supports a wide range of common flagging and diffusion tasks in film and photography work.
