Kupo KCP-220 20" Extension Grip Arm – 2 1/2" Grip Head on 20" Steel Tubing for Secure Accessory Positioning

The Kupo KCP-220 is a 20" extension grip arm that combines a 2 1/2" grip head with a 20" length of steel tubing. The tubing measures 5/8" (16mm) in diameter and has a machined, rough texture to provide a reliable, non-slip surface for handling and adjustment. This configuration lets you mount and position accessories securely while maintaining precise control.

Design and construction

The grip arm uses a 2-1/2" grip head made from rotating aluminum discs. These discs attach to a 5/8" (16mm) receiver and include an aluminum friction disc for long-lasting, positive locking strength. The core of the grip head is built around a solid steel central stift with a fixed solid pin that secures the stift to the aluminum casting, increasing strength and durability.

In addition, the grip head includes dedicated roller bearings that provide smooth operation and are designed to deliver maximum torque when tightening. The arm itself is steel tubing carefully machined to create a textured surface that helps prevent slipping during use.

Jaw system and compatibility

The grip head features four different sized V-shaped jaws. Each jaw has teeth that bite into the mounted item to hold it securely between the plates. The four jaw sizes accept accessories and studs with the following diameters:

  • 5/8"
  • 1/2"
  • 3/8"
  • 1/4"

Because of this range, you can mount a wide variety of accessories and tubing without additional adapters, using the appropriate V-jaw size for the stud or tubing you have.

Handling and control

The grip head includes an oversized ergonomic T handle for comfortable and effective torque during tightening and positioning. The combination of the T handle, roller bearings, and the non-slip friction disc gives users precise control when locking accessories in place.

Common uses

This 20" grip arm is almost always used in conjunction with a 2 1/2" grip head to give you flexible positioning for grip and lighting accessories. Typical applications include positioning gobos such as flags, scrims, and silks, as well as mounting other accessories virtually anywhere on set where a sturdy, adjustable arm is required.
