This Kupo KCP-241 is a 40" grip arm designed to let you mount light fixtures or accessories on the end of the arm as if it were a mini boom. It terminates in a baby hex pin with six milled flat surfaces so attached fixtures or accessories do not rotate when their set-screws engage the flats. The arm combines a long steel tube, a machined non-slip surface, and a versatile 2-1/2" grip head to handle multiple mounting options.
The arm is constructed from 5/8" (16 mm) steel tubing. The tubing surface is carefully machined to create a rough texture that helps ensure a non-slip grip when you handle or clamp the arm. At the end of the tube a 2-1/2" grip head is mounted; this grip head is built around rotating aluminum discs attached to a 5/8" (16 mm) receiver.
The 2-1/2" grip head provides four different sized V-shaped jaws that accept mounting studs or tubing in 5/8", 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4" sizes. The V-shaped jaws include teeth that grab and hold whatever is clamped between the plates. The grip head also includes an oversized ergonomic T-handle and dedicated roller bearings for high torque operation. A non-slip aluminum friction disc maintains durability over time and gives positive locking strength and precise control.
The grip head is constructed around a solid steel central stift with a fixed solid pin securing it to the aluminum casting, increasing strength and durability. The rotating discs are aluminum and the central structure relies on steel where rigidity and long-term wear resistance are required.
Use this extension grip arm to position lights or accessories away from stands or booms, effectively creating a compact mini boom. The six-flat baby hex pin prevents rotation when a fixture’s set-screw locks onto one of the flat sides. The variety of V-jaw sizes lets you clamp different studs and tubing without extra adapters. The textured tube gives a secure grip when adjusting or tightening the arm.

Question: Will the baby hex pin prevent rotation of my mounted fixture?
Answer: Yes. The baby hex pin has six milled flat surfaces so a fixture’s set-screw can lock onto a flat, preventing rotation when mounted at the arm’s end.
Question: What stud or tubing sizes can the grip head accept?
Answer: The 2-1/2" grip head includes four V-shaped jaws that accept 5/8", 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4" mounting studs or tubing, covering the common sizes you would attach.
Question: How does the grip head achieve secure locking and durability?
Answer: The grip head uses rotating aluminum discs with toothed V-jaws, a non-slip aluminum friction disc for positive locking, dedicated roller bearings for torque, and a solid steel central stift with a fixed solid pin to attach the assembly to the aluminum casting for increased strength.
Question: Is the surface easy to hold when adjusting the arm?
Answer: Yes. The steel tubing is painstakingly machined to a rough texture that provides a non-slip surface for handling and clamping.
Question: What warranty covers this product?
Answer: The Kupo KCP-241 comes with a limited two-year warranty as stated by the manufacturer.
