The Kupo KS-271 V-Lock Base is a precision-machined V-lock wedge made from black anodized 6061 aluminum. It delivers tight tolerances that reduce unwanted movement and provides multiple mounting options for camera rigs and accessories.
The KS-271 offers several practical mounting interfaces. You can attach it directly to a Convi clamp (KCP-700) using the supplied M5 hardware and a 3/8” to M5 adapter that mounts from the back of the V-lock base. In addition, the base has a central 3/8”-16 tapped hole for mounting to equipment. You can use the supplied 3/8”-16 slotted countersunk screw into the female thread or secure the base using a standard 3/8”-16 Arri-style anti-rotation pin.
For plate and cheese-style mounting, the two 3/8”-16 tapped holes on the back are spaced 1” center-to-center. This spacing enables attachment to most standard cheese plates and similar accessory plates.
Use the KS-271 to add a V-lock mounting point where you need secure attachment and reduced play. It fits camera support systems and accessories that accept 3/8”-16 or M5 fasteners, and it is directly compatible with the Convi clamp KCP-700 when using the supplied hardware. Furthermore, its back holes align with standard cheese plates, making it straightforward to integrate into existing rigs.

Question: Will this V-lock base fit my Convi clamp KCP-700?
Answer: Yes. The KS-271 is designed to attach to the Convi clamp (KCP-700) using the supplied two M5 screws and the included 3/8” to M5 adapter that mounts from the back of the V-lock base.
Question: Can I mount the base to a standard cheese plate?
Answer: Yes. The two 3/8”-16 tapped holes on the back are spaced 1” center-to-center, which matches standard cheese plate spacing for straightforward mounting.
Question: How do I secure the base to equipment that uses 3/8”-16 threads?
Answer: The KS-271 has a central 3/8”-16 tapped hole. You can use the supplied 3/8”-16 slotted countersunk screw into the female thread, or you can secure it via a standard 3/8”-16 Arri-style anti-rotation pin depending on your equipment’s mounting method.
Question: What material is the base made from and why does that matter?
Answer: The base is machined from 6061 aluminum and finished with black anodizing. This construction provides a durable, lightweight mounting wedge with tight tolerances to minimize wiggle in mounted setups.
