The Nanlite Halo16 is a 40.6 cm dimmable bi-color LED ring light designed for creators who need soft, flattering illumination. It delivers near-shadowless light with distinctive ring-shaped catchlights, making it suitable for makeup tutorials, vlogging, portrait photography and photo booths.

The Halo16 supports both AC power and battery operation. You can power the light from an AC adapter or from a Sony NP-F style battery (battery not included). In addition, USB Power Passthrough lets you charge smartphones and other devices while using the light, which is useful for live streaming, vlogging and timelapse work.

Mounting, mirror and smartphone bracket

The light includes a standard 5/8" receiver mount so you can mount it directly on most light stands. The kit also contains a smartphone bracket and a makeup mirror. Either the smartphone bracket or the mirror can be mounted directly in the center of the ring, depending on your setup and workflow.

Color accuracy, control and adjustments

The Halo16 provides high color fidelity with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 95 and a Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI) of 93. This means colors and skin tones will appear accurate both to the eye and on camera.

You can quickly adjust brightness and color temperature with centrally located control knobs. The light is dimmable from 0–100%, so you can set the exact intensity you need without moving the fixture. Adjustable color temperature ranges from 3200–5600K, allowing you to match ambient light or other fixtures for consistent results.
