Nanlux Evoke 1200B Spot Light with Trolly Case – High Output Bi-Color 2700K–6500K

The Nanlux Evoke 1200B kit includes the Evoke 1200B spot light and a trolly case. It targets cinematographers and gaffers working in film and TV production who need high output, flexible color control, and robust on-set reliability.

High output performance

The Evoke 1200B delivers extreme light efficiency and very strong output. With the supplied reflector, it reaches 61.030 lux@3m 5600K. Consequently, it matches the intensity of certain traditional fixtures while offering the benefits of LED technology.

Moreover, the Evoke 1200B carries Nanlux's flicker-free functionality to ensure consistent performance across the Evoke line.

Wide bi-color range and color fidelity

The fixture provides a wide CCT range from 2700K to 6500K. You can sweep from warm sunrise tones to daylight and sunset looks using the onboard controls.

Color rendering is high: CRI averages 96 and TLCI averages 97. Nanlux calibrated each unit professionally to maintain continuity and accurate CCT changes without introducing intensity shifts across the range.

Controls, fine-tuning and dimming

The Evoke 1200B uses a simplified, intuitive menu shown on a 2.8-inch display for fast access and familiar operation for users of Nanlux and Nanlite fixtures. You can dim smoothly from 0–100% in 0.1% increments, eliminating sudden jumps in the low output region between 0–1%.

Five dimming curves are available via DMX so you can match the response you need on set: LINEAR, EXPONENT, LOGARITHM, S CURVE, and GAMMA 2.2.

Connectivity and remote control options

The Evoke 1200B supports multiple wired and wireless control methods to fit different workflows. It has an on-board 5-pin XLR port for wired DMX/RDM connection to consoles. For wireless operation, it includes a built-in LumenRadio TimoTwo module for reliable mesh-style links.

Additionally, the unit connects to the NANLINK lighting control system via built-in 2.4G or Bluetooth for app-based control. A dedicated wire-control port on the lamp head provides an alternative hardwired remote option when required.

Thermal design and fan modes for long life and flexible noise control

Nanlux optimized heat management for high-power LEDs to improve heat dissipation while keeping the fixture housing compact. This design aims to increase efficiency and extend LED lifetime under heavy use.

The fan control system offers four operation modes: Smart Mode, High Speed, Low Speed, and Off. Smart sensors monitor LED temperature in real time and automatically adjust fan speed for optimal dissipation and minimal noise.

  • High Speed Mode: Maximizes heat dissipation for high-temperature environments.
  • Low Speed Mode: Balances heat removal with reduced noise. Maximum output in this mode is 50%.
  • Off Mode: Shuts the fan down to minimize noise for sensitive sound environments. Maximum output in this mode is 10%.

Durability and weather resistance

The Evoke 1200B features a hermetically sealed structure and carries an IP54 rating for the whole fixture, including enhanced protection for the power supply. This rating means it can operate in rain, snow, dust, or sandstorm conditions encountered on many production locations.

Design, handling and accessories

The fixture uses aluminum die-cast alloys for its construction to combine compactness and durability. The bare light weighs 7.75kg, which Nanlux notes is approximately 70% of a 1.8K HMI, lending transportability while keeping high intensity available on set.

Standard cabling includes a 7.5m DC cable, with optional 10m and 12m connection cables available to extend power supply distance. The self-locking connector ensures quick and secure connections.

The kit ships with a quick release super clamp and an offset yoke as standard. These secure the power supply on stands or trusses and allow quick swapping of the lamp head. The new offset yoke provides a 15° tilt improvement to increase range when using softboxes and other light-shaping accessories—beneficial for fast-paced production environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Can I control the Evoke 1200B wirelessly on set?
Answer: Yes. The Evoke 1200B includes a built-in LumenRadio TimoTwo module that transmits and receives, and it also connects to the NANLINK system via 2.4G or Bluetooth for app-based control.

Question: Is the fixture suitable for outdoor use in variable weather?
Answer: Yes. The fixture and its power supply are IP54 rated and hermetically sealed, so they withstand rain, snow, dust, and similar conditions commonly encountered outdoors.

Question: How precise is dimming and are there options to match different dimmer responses?
Answer: Dimming is adjustable from 0–100% in 0.1% increments for very fine control. Additionally, five dimming curves are available via DMX to match industry-standard responses.

Question: What noise control options are available for sound-sensitive shoots?
Answer: The fan system offers Smart, High Speed, Low Speed, and Off modes. Low Speed reduces noise while allowing up to 50% output, and Off mode minimizes noise entirely while allowing up to 10% output, making it easier to shoot in quiet environments.

Question: What comes in the kit and does it include modifiers or a reflector?
