Nanlux FL-28 Fresnel Lens for Evoke — Lightweight NL‑Mount with 17°–43° Adjustable Beam

FL-28 Fresnel Lens for Evoke Series

Designed for portability and on‑set practicality

The Nanlux FL-28 is a lighter, more compact NL‑mount Fresnel lens made for the Evoke series of LED spotlights. It was developed in collaboration with experienced gaffers and directors of photography to offer a high‑performance Fresnel that is easier to transport and rig. As a result, smaller crews and gaffers working out of trucks or in tight spaces will find the FL-28 particularly practical.

Adjustable beam, predictable performance

The FL-28 provides an adjustable beam angle from 17° to 43°. This range lets you shape and focus light for different scenes and setups without changing optics. The NL mount is encoded so the Evoke fixture it attaches to recognizes the lens and sets the light accordingly, ensuring predictable behavior when you mount the Fresnel.

Compatibility and output examples

The FL-28 is primarily designed for use with the Evoke 1200, Evoke 1200B and Evoke 900C. It will also mount to the more recent Evoke 2400B, but note that the lens will safely restrict the 2400B’s output by about 50% when attached.

  • With Evoke 1200B: 50,330 lux @ 3 m (5600K, 17° beam angle).
  • With Evoke 900C: 38,580 lux @ 3 m (5600K, 17° beam angle).
  • With Evoke 2400B: restricted output of 25,610 lux @ 3 m (5600K, 17° beam angle) due to the built‑in safety limitation.

Weight and rigging considerations

The FL-28 is compact and lighter than comparable NL‑mount Fresnel lenses. It weighs 3.86 kg / 8.5 lbs (excluding barn doors). Because of its reduced size and weight, crews will find it easier to carry, store, and rig on location.

What the NL mount adds

The innovative Nanlux NL mount is encoded so the attached Evoke fixture knows the lens type. Consequently, the fixture adjusts its behavior and output settings to match the lens automatically. This encoded communication helps maintain consistent lighting results when you swap accessories on set.

Who should consider the FL-28?

If you need a Fresnel that reduces transport weight and saves rigging time, the FL-28 is aimed at smaller production teams and gaffers operating in constrained spaces. It also suits users who want encoded accessory behavior with Evoke fixtures for reliable, repeatable lighting on set.

FAQ

Question: Will the FL-28 work on every Evoke fixture?
Answer: The FL-28 is primarily designed for the Evoke 1200, Evoke 1200B and Evoke 900C. It will also mount to the Evoke 2400B, but when attached it will safely restrict the 2400B’s output by about 50%.

Question: How does the NL mount affect fixture behavior?
Answer: The NL mount is encoded so the Evoke fixture recognizes the lens. The fixture then adjusts its settings accordingly, which helps maintain predictable lighting when you change optics.

Question: Is the FL-28 suitable for small crews and mobile rigs?
Answer: Yes. The FL-28’s lighter, more compact design makes it easier to transport, rig, and store, which benefits smaller crews and gaffers working from trucks or in limited spaces.

Question: What beam angles and output can I expect?
Answer: The FL-28 offers an adjustable beam from 17° to 43°. Example outputs at 17° and 3 m are provided for Evoke fixtures in the specifications table.
