This NiSi Cine Nano IR GND Soft 6x6" 0.6 filter darkens specific areas of a scene, such as bright skies, while leaving the rest of the frame with normal exposure. The filter is densest at one edge and tapers to clear toward the middle, with a soft-edged transition line between the dense and clear areas.
The filter design has been optimized for use with digital sensors. Each surface receives one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating to attenuate both infrared and visible wavelengths. As a result, the filter promotes nearly flat attenuation across visible and infrared light, helping to avoid color casts and maintain truer blacks during longer exposures.

Use this soft-edge graduated IRND filter when you need to reduce brightness in a portion of the frame—commonly skies—without affecting exposure elsewhere. It works well alongside other filters and suits digital workflows where infrared attenuation and color neutrality are important.
question What does this filter do?
Answer It darkens specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing a normal exposure in the other regions of the frame by tapering from dense at the edge to clear toward the middle with a soft transition.
question Will this filter change my image colors?
Answer Neutral density filters do not affect image coloration. Additionally, each surface of this filter includes a NiSi Optical Nano Coating that attenuates infrared and visible wavelengths to maintain color neutrality and reduce color casts.
question Is the filter suitable for digital sensors?
Answer Yes. The design has been optimized specifically for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light.
question What comes in the box and how do I protect the filter?
Answer The filter is 4mm thick, constructed from optical glass, includes scratch-resistant surfaces, and comes with a leatherette pouch for storage and transport; it is also easy to clean for ongoing maintenance.
