This NiSi Cine Nano IRND filter reduces exposure across the entire image, letting you use a wider aperture or a slower shutter speed than you normally would. As a result, you gain direct control over depth of field and can convey movement more easily by lengthening exposure time.
First, the neutral density effect darkens the scene uniformly so you can choose creative settings without overexposing. Second, because the filter is designed to be neutral in color, it preserves image coloration when used alone or in combination with other filters. Finally, by allowing longer exposures or larger apertures, it helps you shape focus and motion in both photo and film work.
NiSi optimized this filter for digital sensors to promote nearly flat attenuation of both visible and infrared light. To achieve greater neutrality and cleaner blacks during increased exposure times, NiSi applies one layer of its Optical Nano Coating to each surface. This coating attenuates infrared light as well as visible wavelengths, which helps suppress color casts and maintain color fidelity.
Use the NiSi Cine Nano IRND when you need to reduce exposure without changing color balance, when you plan to layer filters, or when you want to open the aperture or slow shutter speed to influence depth of field and motion rendering. Because it is optimized for digital sensors and includes infrared attenuation, it is particularly suited to digital cinematography and photography where color neutrality is essential.

Question: Will this filter change the color of my footage or photos?
Answer: The NiSi Nano IRND is designed not to affect coloration; its optical design and Nano Coating promote color neutrality and help suppress color casts, especially during longer exposures.
Question: Can I stack this filter with other filters?
Answer: Yes. The filter is stated to be ideal for pairing with other filters because it is intended not to affect overall image coloration, making it suitable for use in multi-filter setups.
Question: How does the Nano Coating benefit my images?
Answer: The NiSi Optical Nano Coating is applied to each surface to attenuate infrared as well as visible wavelengths. As a result, it helps maintain color neutrality and cleaner blacks when exposure times increase.
Question: What does the filter include for protection and transport?
Answer: The product includes a leatherette pouch for storage and transport, and it features scratch resistance to help protect the optical surface during handling.
