This NiSi Nano IRND filter reduces exposure across the entire image so you can shoot with a wider aperture or a slower shutter speed than you normally would. By lowering the amount of light reaching the sensor, you gain creative control over depth of field and motion depiction in your footage or photos.
NiSi engineered this Nano IRND filter with digital sensors in mind. The design aims for nearly flat attenuation across visible and infrared spectra, so the filter maintains neutral color balance even when you increase exposure times. To support this, the manufacturer applies one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating to each surface. This coating attenuates infrared as well as visible wavelengths, which helps keep blacks cleaner and reduces color casts during extended exposures.
The filter uses optical glass to ensure clarity and preserve color fidelity in your images. In addition, the surface receives treatment for scratch resistance. These choices combine to provide a durable filter that performs optically while standing up to normal field use.

Question: Will this filter change the color balance of my footage or photos?
Answer: The NiSi Nano IRND is intended not to affect image coloration. Its design and the Nano Optical Coating on each surface attenuate both visible and infrared light to help maintain color neutrality and reduce color casts during longer exposures.
Question: Can I stack this filter with other filters?
Answer: Yes. Because the filter is made to avoid affecting overall coloration, it is suitable for pairing with other filters without introducing significant color shifts.
Question: How does this filter affect creative control when shooting?
Answer: By reducing exposure uniformly across the image, the filter lets you use wider apertures for shallower depth of field or slower shutter speeds to capture motion blur. This gives you more flexibility to shape depth and movement in your shots.
Question: Is the filter durable for regular field use?
Answer: The filter is constructed from optical glass and includes scratch resistance, and it ships with a leatherette pouch for storage and transport to help protect the surface when not in use.
