The NiSi Cine True Color Variable ND lets you control exposure, depth of field and motion without changing your aperture or shutter speed. It maintains true colors while reducing light, so you can preserve the look of your scene and still achieve the desired cinematic effects.
Use this variable ND when you need to keep a cinematic frame rate or shutter angle while changing ambient light levels. For example, you can open the aperture to control depth of field or slow the shutter to convey motion, and still keep correct exposure by dialing in the ND. Because the filter aims to preserve true colors, you do not need to compensate for color shifts in post.
Install the filter into the two filter trays of a compatible 4x5.65" mattebox. Then rotate the adjustment wheel to set the density between 1.5 and 5 stops. Use the marked steps to repeat settings reliably. If you use a small focus motor, the included support rod and m0.8 focus gear allow integration with focus control systems.
