The NiSi Athena Prime Master set for E-Mount delivers a matched suite of prime cine lenses designed for filmmakers who need consistent exposure, matched mechanics, and broad focal coverage. This kit includes eight E-Mount Athena Prime lenses supplied without Drop-In filters and a hard case for storage and transport.
The set spans an extensive focal range from ultra-wide 14mm to portrait-length 135mm. Specifically, the kit contains 14, 18, 25, 35, 40, 50, 85 and 135mm primes. The lenses feature T-stop ratings that give you true light transmission values for reliable exposure when swapping lenses.
The lenses provide an image circle of 46mm, making them suitable for full-frame and even large-format sensors. The series is available in multiple mount options across NiSi’s range, and the optics prioritize chromatic control and micro-contrast for finer image detail.
NiSi matched the mechanical behavior of the Athena Primes to simplify lens changes on set. The aperture and focus rings are harmonized across the range, and the focus rotation is long for precise pulls.
The Athena Prime series features a proprietary rear filtration system. Some mounts use a Drop-In filter option while PL uses a rear filter. The E-Mount is available in two versions overall, with or without the Drop-In filter; this particular kit is the E-Mount version supplied without Drop-In filters.
Important: Use the Drop-In clear filter on RF, L, G and E-mount lenses, and use the rear filter on PL-mount lenses, to achieve infinity focus and clear images.
NiSi also provides a weather-sealed solution for the Drop-In filter to protect the rear filtration area when using that option.
The Athena Primes are designed to be convenient on set and in the field. NiSi matched weights across the range so lens swaps do not force repeated gimbal rebalancing in most situations.
Additionally, NiSi offers a 77mm close-up lens (sold separately) to reduce minimum focus distance and create macro effects when needed.

Question: Are these NiSi Athena Primessuitable for full-frame and large-format cameras?
Answer: Yes. The lenses have a 46mm image circle, which is specified to cover full-frame and even large-format sensors, making them compatible with those sensor sizes.
Question: Does this E-Mount kit include Drop-In filters?
Answer: No. This specific NiSi Athena Prime Master kit for E-Mount is the version supplied without Drop-In filters. NiSi does offer E-Mount lenses in two versions (with and without Drop-In), and RF, L and G mounts also have Drop-In filter options.
Question: Will I need to rebalance a gimbal when switching between Athena lenses?
Answer: In most cases you will not. NiSi states that all Athena Prime lenses are similar in weight and do not require rebalancing on a gimbal when switching lenses, which speeds up lens changes during production.
Question: How do I ensure infinity focus and clear images when using these lenses?
Answer: Use the Drop-In clear filter on RF, L, G and E-mount lenses and use the rear filter on PL-mount lenses. NiSi notes that these filters are important to achieve infinity focus and obtain clear images.
Question: Can I use Drop-In filters with a Sony FX9 camera?
Answer: No. The Sony FX9 camera cannot use the E-Mount with Drop-In filters, so plan mount and filter choices accordingly.
Question: Are the focus and aperture controls compatible with standard cinema accessories?
Answer: Yes. The Athena Primes use standard 0.8 mod focus and iris gears, and they have matched aperture and focus rings across the range for smooth compatibility with follow focus units and matte boxes.
Question: Is there a way to get closer focus or macro effects with these lenses?
Answer: Yes. NiSi offers a 77mm close-up lens (sold separately) that can reduce the minimum focus distance and help create macro-style effects when needed.
