The NiSi Filter Holder V7 for the 100 mm system replaces the popular NiSi V6 Pro and adds improvements based on photographer feedback. It uses high-quality aluminium and a matte black frosted finish to reduce reflections. The kit also includes an ultra-thin 86 mm True Color polarization filter (CPL) made from exclusive polarizing film that prevents the yellow color cast commonly produced by many CPLs.
Design and build
The holder accepts up to three 100 mm square filters (2 mm thick) plus NiSi’s polarization filter in any combination. You can rotate the holder 360 degrees and lock it in the desired position using a newly designed locking screw. In addition, an easily accessible adjustment wheel on the back lets you spin the polarization filter even when other filters are stacked in the holder.
Fast CPL installation and practical finishes
The included True Color CPL installs and removes quickly and conveniently. The CPL uses exclusive polarizing film to avoid the yellow cast that can appear with some circular polarizers. Meanwhile, the matte black frosted aluminium surface minimizes internal reflection for cleaner results.
Compatibility and photography use
The V7 holder fits lenses with focal lengths as short as 15 mm on full-frame cameras, for example a 16–35 mm f/2.8 wide-angle zoom, without risk of vignetting. The smart design allows you to use a standard ND filter, a graduated ND filter and the circular polarizer at the same time — a common and useful setup for landscape photography.
