This adapter allows you to use the NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder System on the Sony 12-24 F2.8 lens. It provides a secure connection between the lens’s integrated hood and the S6 filter holder, enabling use of NiSi circular S6 polarizers and square/rectangular filters when combined with the full S6 holder.

What this adapter does

The adapter slides over the integrated hood of the Sony 12-24 F2.8 and tightens to provide a stable mounting point. Once attached, you can fit a NiSi S6 Filter Holder Frame onto the adapter ring. The adapter permits rotation of a compatible circular polarizer and allows the filter holder to rotate 360° for flexible filter positioning.

Installation and operation

Installation is straightforward and fast. First, slide the adapter ring over the lens hood. Then tighten the ring to secure it in place. After that, place the NiSi S6 Filter Holder Frame onto the adapter ring and lock it using the holder’s pull-and-release pin.

• The pull-and-release locking pin gives a reliable yet adjustable connection.
• Once locked, the filter holder can rotate a full 360°, which helps when using graduated neutral density and other position-sensitive filters.
• When used with the adapter ring, a compatible circular polarizer can be rotated independently via the external dials on the ring to adjust polarizing effect.

Compatibility and important notes

This is the adapter only. It is compatible with the Circular S6 filters but it requires an S6 Filter Holder to work with 150x150mm or 150x170mm filters. The adapter is included in the NiSi S6-Kit for the Sony 12-24 F2.8 lens.

Please note: This adapter is not compatible with the circular filters for the S5-system. If you already own the NiSi S6 Holder Kit, simply add this adapter to make your kit compatible with the Sony 12-24 F2.8 lens.
