The NiSi IRND64 Nano Huc 55mm is a 6-stop neutral density filter that reduces incoming light by six stops. It lets you control exposure for longer shutter speeds or wider apertures while preserving image quality and color fidelity.
The filter is made from high quality optical glass and uses a nano coating. As a result, the filter does not affect the sharpness or resolution of your lens. In addition, it has no effect on the color rendition of your images.
Moreover, the built-in IR coating helps eliminate infrared light. This reduces the risk of color casts that can occur during long exposures. The nano coating also repels water and grease, making it easier to keep the glass clean in the field.
The filter frame is matt black and ultra thin, measuring only 3.5mm. Because of this slim frame, the filter is well suited for use on super wide-angle lenses where a thicker frame could cause vignetting. The filter is supplied in the 55mm size, so it fits lenses with a 55mm filter thread.
Attaching a neutral density (ND) filter uniformly reduces the amount of light entering the lens. Consequently, you can select a longer shutter speed to create motion blur, or choose a larger aperture to achieve a shorter depth of field. These adjustments are useful for landscape and portrait photography. Equally, videographers benefit by being able to shoot at specific speeds that deliver a natural-looking motion cadence.

Question: Will this filter fit my lens?
Answer: The NiSi IRND64 Nano Huc is a 55mm screw-on filter and fits lenses that have a 55mm filter thread.
Question: Will the filter affect image sharpness or colors?
Answer: No. The filter is made from optical glass with a nano coating that preserves sharpness and resolution, and it does not affect color rendition. The IR coating further prevents infrared-induced color casts at long exposures.
Question: Is this filter suitable for wide-angle lenses?
Answer: Yes. The matt black, ultra thin 3.5mm frame minimizes the risk of vignetting, making it suitable for use on super wide-angle lenses.
Question: How does it help videographers?
Answer: By reducing light by six stops, the filter allows videographers to use specific shutter speeds and apertures that produce a natural image rendition and controlled motion blur, even in bright conditions.
