What the filter does

The NiSi Nano IR Neutral Density Filter ND8 reduces incoming light uniformly across the frame. With a density of 0.9, it delivers a 3 stop reduction. As a result, you can use larger apertures or slower shutter speeds without overexposing the image.

Consequently, you gain creative control: produce motion blur in flowing water or moving clouds, or maintain shallow depth of field in bright conditions. The neutral density element does not affect image coloration, and the added IR protection coating helps restore natural color by eliminating unwanted infrared light.

Optical quality and protective coatings

The filter uses high quality optical glass combined with a nano coating. The nano coating reduces water and oil adhesion, making the glass very resistant to stains and easy to maintain. Additionally, NiSi applied an infrared (IR) protection layer to reduce color cast caused by infrared light passing through the lens.
