Designed for landscape photographers and videographers, the NiSi IRND8 Pro Nano HUC 49mm reduces incoming light while preserving image detail and natural color. It combines high-quality optical glass, a thin aluminium frame, and multiple coatings to deliver reliable performance in the field.
Attaching this neutral density (ND) filter uniformly reduces the amount of light entering your lens. As a result, you can achieve a correct exposure when the contrast between highlights and shadows is too great for a single setting.
Additionally, the ND8 allows creative control by enabling longer shutter speeds or wider apertures. For example, you can introduce motion blur in flowing water or move to a shallower depth of field in bright conditions by stopping down the exposure by three stops.
The filter uses high-quality optical glass and a nano coating to maintain image detail. Furthermore, an infrared protection coating layer helps eliminate infrared contamination through the lens and brings back a more natural color rendition.
The frame is made from aluminium and measures 3.5mm in thickness. Because it is ultra-thin, it fits well on super wide angle lenses and helps avoid vignetting. The matt black superfine frosted finish and top smooth surface reduce surface reflections.

Question: Will this filter fit my lens?
Answer: The NiSi IRND8 Pro Nano HUC is sized for lenses with a 49mm filter thread and is intended to be mounted directly on compatible lenses with that thread size.
Question: Does the ND8 affect color rendition?
Answer: Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image. This model also includes an IR coating to reduce infrared light passing through the lens, helping to bring back natural color and reduce color cast.
Question: How much light does the filter block and why use it?
Answer: The filter has a density of 0.9, corresponding to a 3-stop exposure reduction. It helps when highlights and shadows differ too much for a single exposure and enables longer shutter speeds or larger apertures for creative effects such as motion blur or shallower depth of field.
Question: Is the filter easy to maintain?
Answer: The nano coating provides resistance to water and oil, and the manufacturer states the filter is extremely easy to clean. The combination of coatings and finish aims to simplify maintenance and preserve optical performance.
