This NiSi IRND8 Pro Nano Huc 58mm filter is specially designed for landscape photographers and videographers. It reduces incoming light, helps control exposure in bright conditions, and supports creative choices such as using larger apertures or slower shutter speeds for motion blur and depth-of-field effects.
The filter uses high quality optical glass with a nano coating to help preserve fine detail in your images. In addition, NiSi added an infrared (IR) protection coating that reduces infrared light passing through the lens, which helps bring back more natural color and reduces unwanted color cast.
This ND8 filter has a density of 0.9, which corresponds to a 3-stop reduction in exposure. In practical terms, the filter uniformly reduces the amount of light entering the lens to allow correct exposure when highlights and shadows are difficult to balance. It also enables creative control by allowing larger apertures or slower shutter speeds in bright light.
The filter frame is made from aluminium and measures only 3.5mm in thickness. Because of this ultra-thin frame, the filter fits well on super wide-angle lenses and helps avoid vignetting. The frame has a matt black superfine frosted finish and a top smooth surface to minimise reflections and handling marks.
NiSi applied a nano coating that makes the filter surface highly resistant to water and oil. As a result, the filter is extremely easy to clean and maintain, keeping the optical surface clear and usable during field work.
Use this NiSi ND8 when you need to control exposure in bright outdoor scenes, especially for landscapes where maintaining colour and detail is important. Videographers can rely on the 3-stop reduction to slow shutter speed for smoother motion rendition, while photographers can keep wider apertures for shallower depth of field without overexposing.

Question: What does ND8 / 0.9 mean for exposure?
Answer: ND8 corresponds to a density of 0.9, which reduces incoming light by 3 stops. This allows you to use larger apertures or slower shutter speeds in brighter conditions while maintaining correct exposure.
Question: Will this filter cause color cast in my images?
Answer: The filter is designed to provide no color cast. It includes an IR coating to reduce infrared light and help preserve natural colours, and the manufacturer notes "No color Cast" as a feature.
Question: Is this filter suitable for wide-angle lenses?
Answer: Yes. The aluminium frame is ultra-thin (3.5mm), which helps the filter fit even on super wide-angle lenses and reduces the risk of vignetting.
Question: How easy is the filter to clean and maintain?
Answer: The nano coating makes the glass resistant to water and oil, so the filter is extremely easy to clean and maintain during regular field use.
Question: Who is this filter intended for?
Answer: The NiSi IRND8 Pro Nano Huc 58mm is specially designed for landscape photographers and videographers who need reliable exposure control, natural colour reproduction, and a slim frame that minimizes vignetting.
