Specially designed for landscape photographers and videographers using the Mavic Air, this NiSi Nano IR Neutral Density filter reduces incoming light by three stops while preserving natural color and image detail.
The NiSi Nano IR Neutral Density Filter ND8 is made from high quality optical glass. It features a nano coating that helps preserve every bit of image detail. In addition, the filter includes an infrared (IR) protection coating that reduces infrared light passing through the lens, which helps bring back natural color in your footage.
The ND8 (0.9 density) filter provides a 3-stop reduction in light entering the lens. By attaching this neutral density filter, you uniformly lower exposure, which helps when the contrast between highlights and shadows is too great for a single, quality exposure. You can also achieve greater motion blur or use larger apertures and slower shutter speeds for creative effects while maintaining correct exposure.
The filter’s frame is made of aluminium and has a thickness of only 3,5mm. This ultra thin design helps the filter fit cleanly on wide-angle optics and reduces the risk of vignetting, even when used on super wide-angle lenses that are common in drone landscape work.
The frame has a matt black superfine frosted finish and the surface has a top smooth finish. The nano coating not only protects image detail but also makes the filter very resistant to water and oil. As a result, the filter is extremely easy to clean and maintain in field conditions.

Question: Is this filter compatible with the Mavic Air?
Answer: Yes. This NiSi Nano IR ND8 filter is listed as a filter kit for the Mavic Air and is designed with that platform in mind.
Question: What does ND8 / 0.9 mean for exposure?
Answer: ND8 corresponds to a density of 0.9 and provides a 3-stop reduction in light. That reduction helps control exposure in bright conditions and enables creative choices like slower shutter speeds and wider apertures.
Question: Will the filter change my footage color or introduce a color cast?
Answer: Neutral density filters do not affect image coloration by design. This NiSi filter also includes an IR coating to reduce infrared light, which helps restore natural color and minimizes color cast.
Question: How does the frame design affect image quality?
Answer: The aluminium frame has an ultra-thin 3,5mm profile and a matt black superfine frosted finish. Because of its thin design, it helps prevent vignetting on wide-angle setups commonly used in landscape drone work.
Question: Is the filter easy to maintain in the field?
Answer: Yes. The nano coating makes the surface very resistant to water and oil, which contributes to the filter being extremely easy to clean and maintain during outdoor shoots.
