The NiSi Filter Lens Hood replaces the Nikon HB-97 for the Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S and addresses a specific issue: the original HB-97 can allow light to enter from behind the lens, making it less suitable for long exposures. NiSi redesigned the hood to eliminate this light leak and improve performance when you use ND filters and shoot long exposures.
NiSi preserved the familiar flower-shaped design and matched the dimensions of the Nikon HB-97, so the hood fits the Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S without altering the lens profile. In addition, NiSi added a 112mm filter thread so you can attach 112mm circular filters directly to the hood.
Furthermore, this hood is also compatible with the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S and the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S. As a result, you can use 112mm filters across all three lenses with the same hood.
The hood includes a locking screw that secures the hood to the lens. This locking screw prevents accidental detachment and provides extra safety while you work in the field. Moreover, when you screw ND filters onto the 112mm thread on the hood, the design prevents light from leaking in behind the lens, which improves results during long exposures and when using strong ND filters.
Please note!
This lens hood is ALSO compatible with the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S and Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S.
It allows the use of 112mm filters across all three lenses.

question: Is this hood compatible with lenses other than the Nikkor Z 14-24 f/2.8 S?
Answer: Yes. It is also compatible with the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S and the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S, allowing the use of 112mm filters across all three lenses.
question: How does this hood improve long exposure and ND filter use?
Answer: The NiSi hood prevents light from entering from behind the lens — a problem seen with the HB-97 — so it reduces unwanted stray light when you screw ND filters onto the 112mm thread, which improves results during long exposures.
question: Can I attach NiSi 112mm circular filters directly to the hood?
Answer: Yes. The hood includes a 112mm filter thread designed for NiSi 112mm circular filters to be screwed directly onto the hood.
question: How does the hood stay attached during use?
Answer: The hood features a locking screw that secures the hood to the lens, adding safety and preventing accidental detachment while shooting.
