This listing bundles a NiSi Filter Swift System VND / Black Mist kit (82mm) together with a set of accessories. The kit gives you several filter options you can use alone or stacked for extended control over exposure and image quality.
You can use the ND16 (4 stop) and the Black Mist 1/4 as standalone filters. Alternatively, you can mount them via the NiSi Swift system adapter ring or add the NiSi True Color VND 1-5 stops filter to the combination.
For quick use, simply push the Swift system filters on. When you pair the NiSi True Color VND 1-5 stop filter with the NiSi Swift System ND16 (4 stop) filter, the resulting variable ND range becomes 5–9 stops. You can then add the NiSi Swift System Black Mist 1/4 in front of that combination, or mount the Black Mist directly on the VND filter.
Note the vignetting compatibility measured on Full Frame lenses when stacking or using filters in isolation:
The NiSi FILTER ND-VARIO 1-5 Stops True Color is a variable neutral density filter that provides an exposure reduction of 1 to 5 EV. You control the density steplessly by turning the filter. The front filter ring rotates to set the degree of density and optionally accepts the included silver lever for easier adjustments.
The filter includes built-in stops at the end positions so you can feel and know your setting during action use. For repeatable control, the front ring is visually marked with numbers that represent stop values. The ring also features silver side knurlings for a secure grip and easy installation and removal.
For cinema and video use, you can combine aperture adjustments with this filter to fine-tune depth of field while maintaining the designated frame rate. The filter suits both photography and video, letting you precisely control the amount of light entering the lens so you can use larger apertures or longer shutter speeds under current lighting conditions.
Construction and coatings:
Additional notable points:
The Swift System ND16 is a 4-stop full-spectrum neutral density filter. It offers true color transmittance, plus a nano coating that is waterproof and antireflective. The filter also features a NEW Multi-Ti Coating that increases scratch resistance and reduces glare.
The Black Mist 1/4 creates a soft, pastel-like quality of light and includes an extra layer of black specks. It provides little loss of detail across the image compared to traditional diffusion filters. The Black Mist filter also has nano coating and is waterproof and antireflective.
The Swift Filter adapter ring is intended for use with the Swift Black Mist and Swift ND16 when you do not use the NiSi True Color VND 1-5 stops filter. The adapter enables the Swift system filters to mount quickly and securely.
This kit includes front protection and a small bag for storing the filters. The Swift System kit is available in multiple thread sizes:
| Item | Specification / Note |
|---|---|
| VND | 1–5 stops, True Color, built-in end stops, numbered ring, removable lever |
| ND16 (Swift) | 4 stops, Full Spectrum Neutral Density, True Color transmittance, Nano & Multi-Ti coating |
| Black Mist 1/4 (Swift) | Soft diffusion with black specks, minimal detail loss, Nano coating |
| Adapter | Swift adapter ring for Swift ND16 and Black Mist when not using the VND |
| Available sizes | 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, 82mm, 95mm |
| Vignetting guidance (Full Frame) | VND alone: down to 16mm; VND + ND16: down to 18mm; VND + ND16 + Black Mist: down to 20mm |
Question: Will this filter kit fit my lens?
Answer: It fits lenses that match the selected thread size. The kit is available in 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, 82mm and 95mm sizes. Choose the size that matches your lens thread.
Question: Can I stack filters to increase ND strength?
Answer: Yes. When you use the NiSi True Color VND 1-5 stop filter together with the NiSi Swift System ND16 (4 stop), you achieve a combined 5–9 stop variable ND. You can also add the Black Mist 1/4 in front of that combination or mount it directly on the VND.
Question: Will stacking these filters cause vignetting on wide-angle lenses?
Answer: The manufacturer provides vignetting guidelines on Full Frame lenses: VND alone is usable down to 16mm, VND with ND16 down to 18mm, and VND with ND16 plus Black Mist down to 20mm without vignetting. The VND also has a thin ring to reduce the risk of vignetting on wide-angle use.
Question: Are these filters suitable for video work?
Answer: Yes. The VND lets you adjust exposure while keeping your chosen frame rate, and the numbered ring plus built-in stops help with repeatable density settings. The filters’ coatings and construction also support use in cinema and video workflows.
