The NiSi Square Nano IRGND Medium 75x100mm is a rectangular graduated neutral density (GND) filter made for landscape photographers. It darkens bright areas of a scene, such as skies, while allowing normal exposure in the rest of the image. You can reposition the filter in a holder to recompose the photo and achieve the best framing.
The filter has a darker area at the top that gradually transitions to clear at the bottom. As a result, it prevents overexposure of skies while leaving foreground elements at a normal exposure. This medium-edged transition works well for scenes that include buildings, mountains and other elements that protrude into the skyline.
NiSi made this filter from high quality optical glass (not resin). It features nano coating on both sides to help preserve detail. The glass is described as Environmental Optical Lens glass (H-K9L), and the surface treatments also make the filter water and oil repellent.
Neutral density filters can allow infrared light to affect images, which may cause an unwanted red cast at small apertures. NiSi added an infrared protection coating to this filter to reduce infrared contamination and help restore natural color in your photos. In addition, the filter is designed to produce an ultra low color cast and ultra low reflection so it does not noticeably alter image coloration.
The NiSi Nano IR Medium Graduated ND in 75x100 mm is available in the following maximum-effect steps:
Use these strengths to balance exposure between bright skies and darker foregrounds without affecting the rest of the image.

Question: What does this medium graduated ND filter do for my landscape photos?
Answer: It darkens bright areas—typically skies—while keeping the rest of the scene at normal exposure, which helps balance scenes with high contrast such as mountains or buildings protruding into the skyline.
Question: Is the NiSi Nano IRGND made of glass or resin?
Answer: It is made from high quality optical glass (not resin), specifically Environmental Optical Lens glass (H-K9L), which supports high definition image capture.
Question: Will the filter change my image colors or cause vignetting?
Answer: The filter is designed for ultra low color cast and ultra low reflection, and it is specified to produce no vignetting. Additionally, the infrared protection coating helps prevent infrared-induced color shifts.
Question: Can I move the filter to adjust framing after mounting it?
Answer: Yes. The filter can be repositioned in a compatible holder so you can recompose the shot and place the graduated transition where it best suits the scene.
