This NiSi Starter Kit 100mm System V7 gives you a complete set of filters and accessories to begin shooting long exposures and balancing exposures in landscape and seascape photography. The kit bundles the NiSi V7 100mm filter holder with key ND, GND and CPL filters, plus a pouch and cleaning tools so you can start shooting right away.
Use the kit to create long exposure images, reduce light uniformly with ND filters, and balance bright skies with graduated ND filters. The included True Color CPL helps reduce reflections and improve color without the common yellow cast associated with many polarizers.
The NiSi Filter Holder V7 for the 100mm system is made from highest quality aluminum and features a matte black frosted finish to minimize reflections. It accepts multiple 100mm filters and mounts quickly to your lens via adapter rings.
The CPL installs quickly into the holder and can be removed easily. You can rotate it 360 degrees and lock it in position using a newly designed locking screw, which is helpful when aligning a graduated ND filter. On the back of the holder there is an easily accessible adjustment wheel that lets you rotate the polarization filter even when the holder is full of other filters.
The holder can be used with lenses as wide as 15mm on full frame cameras, allowing use on wide-angle zooms such as 16–35mm f/2.8 without risk of vignetting on that coverage.
The kit includes a NiSi Filter Pouch Caddy Pro100 designed for the V7 holder and 100mm filters. The pouch is made from a lightweight material that protects filters from scratches. It features a flip-top design to keep the pouch open when in use and an adjustable cross-body sling strap so it can be carried as a shoulder bag, messenger bag or waist bag. You can also mount it on a tripod leg for easy access.
The product text also states the pouch can hold a NiSi 100mm V7 holder in the first slot, which reduces the available filter slots to eight.
The IRND filter uniformly reduces light, enabling longer exposures and increased motion blur while allowing you to use wider apertures. The infrared protection layer helps eliminate infrared contamination so colors look more natural.
The IRGND (graduated ND) filter reduces brightness in the sky or other bright areas and helps you capture a balanced exposure when highlights and shadows have a large contrast. The medium-edged transition works well for scenes with protruding elements such as buildings and mountains.
This kit includes adapter rings for 67 mm, 72 mm, 77 mm and 82 mm lens threads so you can mount the V7 holder on a range of lenses. The holder supports full-frame wide-angle use down to 15 mm focal length without vignetting, according to the product description.

Question: Can I use the V7 holder on wide-angle lenses without vignetting?
Answer: Yes. According to the product information, the NiSi V7 holder can be used with lenses as short as 15 mm on full-frame cameras without vignetting.
Question: How does the True Color CPL differ from regular polarizers?
Answer: The True Color CPL is an ultra-thin 86 mm polarizer made from exclusive polarizing film that the manufacturer says prevents the yellow color cast commonly seen with many CPLs. It installs quickly in the V7 holder and can be rotated 360° and locked for precise control.
Question: What advantages do the Nano IR coatings provide on the ND and GND filters?
Answer: The Nano IR ND and GND filters include an infrared protection coating that helps eliminate infrared light passing through the lens. This coating aims to restore more natural color while allowing uniform light reduction and graduated exposure control.
Question: How many filters will the pouch carry and can I store the holder inside it?
Answer: The kit description states the Filter Pouch Caddy Pro100 is for the V7 holder and up to 8 filters (100x100mm / 100x150mm). The pouch description also specifies a capacity of 4 x 100x100mm and 5 x 100x150mm and notes that the V7 holder can be placed in the first slot, which reduces the available filter slots to eight.
