The Samyang MF 14 mm f/2.8 RF is an ultra wide-angle lens designed for Canon mirrorless cameras with an RF mount. It fits full-frame cameras and delivers a very wide field of view suited to landscape, astro and travel photography.
This lens uses manual focus only. It features a wide, smooth focus ring that gives you precise control when framing wide scenes or focusing on stars. Additionally, the aperture is adjusted using a traditional mechanical ring with full stop markings.
Note: The lens does not include electrical contacts or a CPU, so aperture control is fully mechanical.
The barrel is solidly constructed from metal. Furthermore, the lens is weather sealed to reduce the risk of dust and moisture entering the interior, making it suitable for outdoor use in variable conditions.
The optical design uses 14 elements in 10 groups. It includes 3 High Refractive (HR) elements and 2 aspheric elements to help maintain sharpness and resolution across the image. Two elements are made from extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to reduce chromatic aberration. Samyang applies its multi-layer UMC coating to control reflections and stray light, which helps maintain contrast in challenging lighting.
The lens has a fixed lens hood built in.
Because the lens has a fixed hood, it does not take typical front screw-on filters. Instead, it provides a rear holder for thin gelatin filters, allowing you to use certain filter types for landscape and creative work.
