SEETEC LUT215 21.5-inch – 3D LUT Broadcast Studio Monitor for Outdoor Filming and Post Production

The SEETEC LUT215 is a 21.5-inch broadcast monitor designed for outdoor filming and post production. It combines professional monitoring tools, front-panel controls, and a robust metal design to support on-set and mobile live production workflows.

Professional monitoring tools and front control

The monitor offers a built-in control panel that puts common monitoring functions at your fingertips. You can operate the built-in 3D LUTs, histogram, 16-channel embedded audio meters, and focus assist directly from the front panel. In addition, you can use GPI control to trigger functions remotely. The front buttons include a night-light feature so you can see the current input and active shortcuts in low light.

Display panel and image quality

The LUT215 uses a 21.5" IPS LCD panel with Full HD resolution. It delivers broadcast quality imaging so you can evaluate every pixel during shooting and post production. The IPS technology also provides a wide 178° viewing angle horizontally and vertically, which minimizes color shifts when viewing from different positions.

Color calibration and accurate reproduction

SEETEC applies the Rec.709 professional HD color standard and factory calibration using professional instruments. As a result, the monitor aims to reproduce colors accurately and consistently. It supports ITU standards and advanced image processing to present images with natural color and clear detail, helping you evaluate various input video signals precisely.

Input formats and connectivity

The LUT215 supports multiple signal interfaces to handle broadcast and cinema sources. It is equipped with 3G-SDI, HDMI 2.0, HDMI 1.4, RS485, GPI, and DisplayPort inputs. This variety lets you accept different formats and connect to a range of cameras, switchers, and playback devices.

Specifically, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 accept 4K 60Hz input, while HDMI 1.4 accepts 4K 30Hz input. This enables compatibility with 4K sources for native display and conversion workflows.

Built-in and user-uploadable 3D LUTs

The monitor includes multiple built-in log-to-Rec.709 3D LUT conversions for common camera logs, such as C-Log (standard and full), S-Log2, S-Log3, and BMD-4Klog. Additionally, you can upload user 3D LUT cube files via USB. The LUT215 supports cube sizes of 17x17x17, 33x33x33, and 65x65x65 and can store up to 16 user-selectable 3D LUTs for quick recall during shoots or monitoring in post-production.

Audio monitoring and de-embedding

The LUT215 can de-embed audio from SDI and HDMI sources. Under SDI, the monitor supports up to 16 channels of embedded audio meters and allows you to display 2, 4, 8, or all 16 channels. Under HDMI, the monitor displays 2-channel audio. You can select any two channels to output through the built-in speaker or the 3.5mm headphone jack for monitoring.

Multi-window modes and image tools

The monitor includes picture-in-picture (PIP) and picture-by-picture (PBP) modes so you can view two signals at once. This helps compare different formats, resolutions, frame rates, or input types. While using multi-window modes, you can also apply a loading LUT effect. The PIP window size, horizontal and vertical position, and rotation are adjustable.

UMD, text-tally, and tally lights

The LUT215 supports UMD and text-tally display using TSL 3.1/4.0 and Image Video protocol. You can select TSL addresses from 0 to 126, and the UMD can display up to 16 letters. UMD inputs and outputs use the RS485 port. In addition, GPI control operates a red and green tally light to indicate recording or program status for the shooter.

Power options and durable construction

You can power the monitor using a DC adapter or lithium batteries. The LUT215 includes a standard V-mount battery plate and also supports an Anton/Bauer battery plate of your choice. The monitor has a machined aluminum full metal shell that increases durability and helps with heat dissipation for extended use on set or in the field.

When to use the LUT215

  1. On location for outdoor shoots where accurate color and robust build are required.
  2. In mobile live production and broadcast facilities needing multiple input formats and tally/UMD integration.
  3. During post-production monitoring when you need factory-calibrated Rec.709 color and the ability to load custom 3D LUTs.
