Whether you are bushwhacking through the outback or horse packin’ in the Wild West, the Retrospective Series is designed for back-road adventure travel. The Retrospective 5 V2.0 keeps a classic rucksack look while offering practical features that protect gear and allow fast access in the field.
The bag uses rugged yet form-fitting canvas treated with Durable Water-Repellent (DWR) coating to help repel the elements. The main flap hides a zippered security opening that tucks away when not in use, giving rapid top access to your gear while maintaining a minimalist outer appearance. In addition, the back panel provides full access to the interior, including room for a tablet or small laptop-sized device.
Compared to the original model, the Retrospective V2.0 retains the soft, form-fitting design but is lighter. This makes it easier to carry on long days without sacrificing the classic aesthetic.

Question: Can I carry a tablet safely inside the Retrospective 5 V2.0?
Answer: Yes. The Retrospective 5 V2.0 includes a dedicated pocket sized for a 9" tablet (23 x 16 x 2.5 cm), so you can store a tablet separately from camera gear for easy access and protection.
Question: Is the bag weather resistant enough for outdoor use?
Answer: The exterior canvas has a Durable Water-Repellent (DWR) coating and the bag ships with a seam-sealed rain cover. Together these features help protect your equipment during wet conditions encountered in back-road travel.
Question: How does the hidden zippered opening work and why is it useful?
Answer: The zippered opening sits under the main flap and tucks away when not needed. It gives faster top access to the main compartment while maintaining the bag’s minimalist, secure appearance when closed.
Question: Will this bag hold a full-frame DSLR with a lens attached?
Answer: Yes. The Retrospective 5 V2.0 is designed to accommodate a standard DSLR body and examples provided include full-frame setups such as a Canon 5DMIV with a 50mm lens attached, plus additional lenses and a small tablet.
