Zhiyun LED Molus G300 Cob Light – Ultracompact design with high-output MAX Extreme mode

The Zhiyun Molus G300 delivers a remarkably powerful output from an ultracompact square body. It measures only 84 mm thick and fits into a package that is roughly a quarter of the size of traditional 300W video lights, making it easier to pack and carry for on-the-go shoots.

High output and MAX Extreme mode

The G300 offers strong baseline output and a higher temporary boost when you need it. At 1 meter without a reflector it produces 15500 Lux. Furthermore, by simultaneously pressing the Color Temperature button and the Brightness button you can activate the MAX Extreme mode. In MAX Extreme the LED produces 20300 Lux at 1 meter without a reflector, or 81100 Lux at 1 meter when used with the ZHIYUN standard reflector. This MAX Extreme output is comparable to a 500 W light in practical terms.

Color control and rendering

The light provides adjustable color temperature and reliable color fidelity. You can set the correlated color temperature (CCT) anywhere from 2700K to 6500K to match different lighting environments. In addition, the G300 delivers high color accuracy with a CRI of 95, a TLCI of 97, and average TM-30 values of Rf 94 and Rg 101, which help ensure accurate and vibrant color reproduction on camera.

Cooling, mounting and modification options

The G300 integrates Zhiyun's DynaVort Cooling System to dissipate heat efficiently even at higher power levels. For light shaping and accessory use, the unit features a Bowens mount that works with Zhiyun’s light shapers and compatible third-party modifiers. Also, the fixture includes an umbrella hole to support additional light modification options.

Compact design and practical portability

Thanks to its compact square design and 84 mm thickness, the Molus G300 is easier to transport and set up on location compared with traditional 300W fixtures. Consequently, it suits filmmakers and content creators who need strong studio-style output in a smaller package.

FAQ

Question: How do I activate the MAX Extreme mode on the G300?
Answer: Press the Color Temperature button and the Brightness button at the same time to enter MAX Extreme mode. In that mode the light reaches up to 20300 Lux at 1 m without a reflector, or 81100 Lux at 1 m with the ZHIYUN standard reflector.

Question: Can I modify the light with common modifiers and umbrellas?
Answer: Yes. The G300 uses a Bowens mount for compatibility with Zhiyun light shapers and many third-party modifiers, and it also includes an umbrella hole for umbrella-mounted modifiers.

Question: Is the color output suitable for professional video work?
Answer: The G300 offers a wide CCT range (2700–6500K) and high color accuracy (CRI 95, TLCI 97, TM-30 Rf 94 / Rg 101 average), which supports consistent and accurate color reproduction for video and film projects.

Question: How does the unit handle heat at high output levels?
Answer: Zhiyun equips the G300 with the DynaVort Cooling System to help dissipate heat effectively, enabling stable operation even when running at higher power settings.
