The Zhiyun Molus X100 delivers strong, professional LED power in a compact and portable design. It suits video, streaming and photography needs where space and weight matter. The light combines high colour accuracy, multiple power options and simple control methods to keep shoots efficient and flexible.
The Molus X100 targets on-the-go content creators, freelancers and small creative teams. Because it weighs just 385g, you can carry it easily between locations or pack it with other gear. At the same time, it provides a professional 100W output suitable for many production situations.
The X100 offers a wide correlated colour temperature (CCT) range from 2700K to 6500K, so you can dial in warm or cool tones. It maintains high colour fidelity with a CRI of ≥95 and a TLCI of ≥97. For practical reference, at 5500K and measured at 1 meter with the included reflector, the light produces 17032 Lux.
You can power the X100 in three ways: an included grip battery, the supplied AC/DC adapter, or via a 100W PD fast charge. These options minimise downtime and let you adapt to different shooting conditions.
Furthermore, you can adjust colour temperature and brightness either through onboard controls or remotely using Bluetooth. The Molus X100 works with the ZY Vega app, which allows control of both the X100 and the G60. Using the app, you can fully adjust individual lights or group multiple lights together for coordinated control.
The X100 includes a Music Mode that triggers lighting effects based on sound. For example, you can create lightning effects timed to music or simulate flashes for gunshot effects. This adds creative options for music-driven scenes or event-driven lighting cues.
Zhiyun equips the Molus series with the DynaVort Cooling System to keep the unit compact while preventing overheating. The system combines a gyroscope-modelled heat sink design with a FOC fan. It applies fluid dynamics and attitude-control algorithms to manage airflow intelligently, improving cooling efficiency. As a result, the X100 aims to deliver smooth, flicker-free illumination during use.
All Molus lights use the ZY mount, which makes it easy to attach Zhiyun light modifiers that match the series. Additionally, a Bowens adapter is available so you can use existing Bowens-compatible modifiers if needed.

Question: How can I power the Zhiyun Molus X100 during a shoot?
Answer: You can power the X100 using the included X100 Grip battery (2600 mAh), the supplied 120W AC/DC adapter and cable, or a 100W PD fast charge option. These multiple options let you adapt to studio or location shooting.
Question: Can I control several Molus lights at once?
Answer: Yes. The ZY Vega app supports both the Molus X100 and the G60, and it allows you to fully adjust individual lights or group multiple lights together for synchronized control.
Question: Is the light suitable for streaming, video and photography?
Answer: Yes. The Molus X100 is designed for video, streaming and photography, offering a wide CCT range, high CRI and TLCI, and a compact form factor for flexible use cases.
Question: What is Music Mode and how might I use it?
Answer: Music Mode triggers lighting effects from sound input. You can use it for effects timed to music or to simulate event-driven flashes, such as simulated gunshot flashes or rhythmic changes tied to a soundtrack.
Question: Can I use my existing light modifiers with the X100?
Answer: The X100 uses Zhiyun’s ZY mount for dedicated modifiers. If you prefer standard modifiers, a Bowens adapter is available so you can use Bowens-compatible light modifiers you already own.
