The Mofage POCO II Drop-In Filter Adapter Standard Kit is a professional, modular adapter system for filmmakers who want to combine cine lenses with modern mirrorless cameras and film cameras while gaining access to a compact drop-in filter system directly behind the lens. The Standard Kit is available with either an ARRI PL or Canon EF front mount, while the rear camera mount is selected based on your camera body. The system comes with both a variable ND 0.3–2.4 filter and a Pure Clear filter, offering a convenient alternative to traditional front filters and matte box solutions.
The POCO II Standard Kit is available with either an ARRI PL or Canon EF front lens mount. This makes the system compatible with both professional cine lenses featuring a PL mount and a wide range of EF lenses. The front mount on the POCO II is also interchangeable, meaning the system can later be converted from PL to EF or vice versa by adding the other front mount.
It is important to note that the POCO II is a completely passive adapter. Even when using the Canon EF front mount, there is no electronic communication between the lens and the camera. Autofocus, electronic aperture control, electronic image stabilization, and electronic transmission of lens metadata therefore do not function through the adapter.
The rear camera mount is also modular and available in several versions. The POCO II can be configured for Sony E, Canon RF, Leica L, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, or KineMOUNT. This means that the same POCO II system can continue to be used even if the production team later switches camera bodies—instead of replacing the entire adapter, the rear mount can be swapped out.
The Standard Kit comes with a variable ND filter with an adjustment range of ND 0.3–2.4. The filtering takes place directly behind the lens, making it possible to control exposure without mounting a filter on the front of the lens. This is particularly useful on cameras that lack internal ND filters and results in a significantly more compact camera rig than a traditional matte box system.
The VND filter cartridge is equipped with a 0.8 MOD gear ratio, allowing you to connect a compatible follow-focus motor. The ND value can thus be adjusted remotely during, for example, gimbal, crane, car rig, or studio productions.
For situations where no light reduction is needed, a Pure Clear filter is also included. This makes it easy to maintain the same adapter and filter configuration while working without the ND effect. Switching between VND and Clear is quick and easy via the POCO II’s drop-in system.
The POCO II positions the filter cartridge between the lens and the camera. The cartridge is released with a button on the side of the adapter and can be quickly swapped without having to reconfigure the lens or camera rig. Once the filter is in place, it locks securely into the adapter, making the system suitable even for handheld use and gimbals.
Since the filtering takes place behind the lens, the lens’s front diameter is irrelevant. The same filter can therefore be used with multiple different lenses without step-up rings, large front filters, or separate filter holders.
The POCO II features a redesigned internal construction with up to 26 mm of maximum lens insertion depth when the correct POCO II filter cartridge is used. This is an improvement over the first-generation POCO and allows for the use of more cine lenses with longer rear optical elements, including the NiSi Athena series in compatible configurations.
The maximum insertion depth varies depending on the generation and type of filter cartridge used. Lenses with unusually long rear lens elements should therefore always be checked for compatibility before use.
The POCO II is compatible with Mofage’s extensive POCO filter ecosystem. In addition to VND and Pure Clear, optional filters include Circular Polarizer, Orange Streak, White Mist, Black Mist, FSND, and Glimmer. The filter cartridges from POCO and POCO II are cross-compatible, making the system flexible for both existing and future filter sets.
The POCO II features a more compact adapter housing measuring approximately 9 × 9 × 4.2 cm and weighs about 239.8 grams without the filter and protective cap. The reduced size and weight make the system better suited for compact cine cameras, handheld rigs, and gimbals where every gram and centimeter around the lens mount matters.
The contents are the same regardless of the configuration you choose, with the exception of the front lens mount and rear camera mount, which are included according to your selection.

Yes. The Standard Kit is available with either an ARRI PL front mount or a Canon EF front mount. The rear camera mount is selected separately based on the camera with which the adapter will be used.
The rear mount is available for Sony E, Canon RF, Leica L, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, and KineMOUNT.
Yes. The Standard Kit includes a variable ND filter with an ND range of 0.3–2.4, as well as a Pure Clear filter for use when no ND effect is desired.
Yes. The VND cartridge has a 0.8 MOD ratio and can be driven by a compatible follow-focus motor for remote ND adjustment.
No. The POCO II is a completely passive adapter and has no electronic contacts between the lens and the camera. Therefore, autofocus, electronic aperture, electronic stabilization, and lens metadata are not transmitted.
Yes. The POCO II has a modular front mount. For example, if you purchase the Standard Kit with a PL mount, you can later add a separate EF front mount to the system, and vice versa.
Yes. Since the filter is mounted behind the lens, the system is not affected by the lens’s front diameter. This means that the same VND, Clear, or effect filters can be used across multiple different lenses.
Yes. POCO and POCO II filter cartridges are cross-compatible. However, the maximum lens insertion depth may vary depending on the filter generation. For a maximum clearance of 26 mm, the corresponding POCO II filter cartridge should be used.
Yes, the increased clearance of up to 26 mm allows for compatibility with NiSi Athena in the correct POCO II configuration. Always check the specific combination of lens and filter holder before use.
You can use the same filter with lenses that have different front diameters, avoid using step-up rings, and keep the filter system on the camera when changing lenses. This provides a compact and quick solution for cameras that lack built-in ND filters.
