Type EZ lenses are designed for full manual operation, with sufficient rotation angles for creative and precise focus, zoom and iris control. The lens mechanics are made with high-quality, lightweight metal for precision and durability, including temperature compensation to help-avoid recalibration.
Type EZ Zooms provide incredibly fast T-stops, large format sensor coverage, and thanks to their industry-standard 0.8 gear teeth on all three rings, are compatible with lens motors and follow focus units for Cine Style acquisition. The 114mm front diameter is matte box compatible, and a Type EZ Hood is available. For ENG shooting,
a broadcast servo unit (the MSU), was designed specifically for Type EZ Zooms, and is compatible with a wide variety of hand controllers for remote lens control.

Fast Aperture and Up to Full Frame

Type EZ lenses are available in either S35
or as a S35 & FF/VV package ; and are among the fastest
in the industry at f/1.9-T2.0 aperture for S35 cameras. They cover an image circle up to 30mm diagonal for cameras recording in HDTV/UDTV modes and APS-C format DSLRs. The large format option converts them into f/2.8-T3.0 lenses, covering an image circle up to 46mm diagonal.
The lenses perfectly match Full-Frame sensors by RED, ARRI, SONY and other cameras with larger image circles. In S35 cameras, the large format rear group also functions as a 1.5x extender, turning the 30-90mm T2.0 lens into a 45-135mm T3.0 lens.
No Crop Factors
The 22mm/T3.0 wide-angle end for large format cameras converts the lens into a 15mm/T2.0 for S35 cameras, maintaining a similar field of view with extra gain in T-stop.

The versatile, future-proof Angénieux Type EZ series works with multiple camera formats, thanks to its dedicated rear groups customized for both S35 and Full Frame sensors ; based on the innovative IRO TechnologyTM (Interchangeable Rear Optics). Lens mounts are fully interchangeable, with PL, Canon EF and Sony
E mounts currently available.
