The Sirui Venus lenses have a 1.6x compression factor. Which means that when shooting in the 3:2 format, it gives an aspect ratio of 2.4:1. When the sensor is set to 16:9 format, you will get a much wider aspect ratio of 2.8:1, the viewing experience delivered by it provides an amazing and immersive feeling, equivalent to the IMAX format.
Whether you're shooting big views or close-ups, the images you get with this lens will be of superior quality, high resolution and sharpness.
With a full-frame lens, you can shoot wider than with the equivalent APS-C focal length, giving you plenty of room for panning and zooming in each frame. For example, if part of an image is redundant, you can crop it without worrying about pixel loss.
Siurui Venus lenses provide oval bokeh in a more appealing shape than lenses with a 1.33x compression ratio, giving your movie extra expressiveness and aesthetics.
When a light source is directed directly into the lens, it produces the signature blue glow that anamorphic lenses are known for, adding a sense of magic to your image.
Shooting at T2.9 with focusing concentrated on the subject gives you a shallow depth of field with the subject in focus and other areas out of focus. By using a large aperture in low light, the camera can take in more light and achieve a faster shutter speed. The aperture ring is also designed to be stepless to provide smooth iris control with a nice, soft feel.
The Sirui venus lenses have a stylish and elegant appearance, partly because the entire construction is made of solid aluminum alloy.
In addition, both the aperture ring and the focus ring are equipped with standard 0.8 M gear rings to fit most follow-focus systems.
With a 1/4" threaded hole in the bottom, the lens can be mounted directly on a quick release plate to adjust and maintain the balance of your equipment.
The SSirui venus lens is available in four versions with Canon RF, Panasonic/Leica L, Sony E and Nikon Z mounts, making it compatible with full-frame cameras such as Panasonic S1H, S5, RED KOMODO, RED V-RAPTOR ST, Canon R5, R6, C70, Sony FX-3, FX-6 and Nikon Z6 and Z7.
