The camera's placement on the shoulder rig impacts the overall balance of the setup significantly. Using the ARRI BUD dovetail standard, we provide a spacious 165mm of sliding capacity, enabling you to adjust and evenly distribute weight, reducing the strain on your back, neck & shoulders.

The balance can be fine-tuned with added precision using the sliding two-axis shoulder pad situated on the frame. Utilise a single lever to adjust the pad not just in forward and backward directions, but also sideways. This feature allows you to fine-tune camera balance and distance from your head effectively.

15mm Rod Support

The front of the handheld rig features a height adjustable 15mm rod clamp for supporting matte boxes, focus motors & lens supports. An optional rear 15mm rod mount can be added with B6000.1024 - KASBAH Ātman Shoulder Rig Rear Rod Mount.

Compatibility

The KASBAH Ātman Shoulder Rig Kit (BUD Two-Axis VCT-14) is designed to seamlessly integrate with a variety of professional filmmaking equipment. This frame uses the wider 88mm ARRI BUD standard and seamlessly integrates with B4004.1038 - BUD bottom plate for the Sony BURANO. It is also compatible with ARRI ALEXA 35, MINI & MINI LF camera models, offering professional-grade support and stability for your filmmaking endeavors using the BUD-1 & BUD-3 bottom plates.

Instructions

You'll need a 3mm & 4mm Allen wrench. The kit features captive screws, eliminating the worry of losing any tiny components during setup.

1. Attach the two-axis shoulder pad to the frame by sliding it on from rear. Ensure you complete this step before installing the VCT-14 kit.
2. To set up the VCT mounting kit, align the locating pins with the corresponding holes on the KASBAH Ātman frame. Fasten the two screws located on the rear foot and the three screws on the front foot using a 4mm Hex key.
3. To attach the front 15mm rod bracket, align the two captive screws with the mounting holes at the front of the frame. Secure them using a 3mm Hex key in a crisscross pattern.
4. If needed, connect a hand or remote grip to the ARRI rosettes and adjust as necessary.
5. Slide the camera package onto the BUD dovetail and secure it in place.
6. Place the shoulder rig on your shoulder and adjust the camera and shoulder pad positions for maximum comfort.
7. Secure the rig onto a VCT-14 plate.
8. Before starting filming, make sure all connections are secure to avoid accidents or mishaps.
