The HELO Plus H.264 Advanced Streamer & Recorder from AJA is a compact, standalone device with the ability to simultaneously stream your content to two destinations while recording. H.264 capture options include an SD card slot, USB output, and network-based NFS or CIFS storage. Advanced features include a web interface for preview windows, the ability to create PiP effects from multiple sources with graphic overlays, group control for multiple HELO Plus and Ki Pro devices, and multiple local and remote options.

Portable, Standalone Unit

The compact, quiet HELO Plus recorder can be used in live events, sports, education, webcasting, news production and more. This standalone unit features streaming and recording buttons on the front of the unit as well as LED video and audio level indicators. The SD card and USB ports are also located on the front of the unit for easy access.

Remote or Local Control

Configure all features of HELO Plus remotely via a web browser using your Ethernet connection and your laptop or desktop computer with the ability to control multiple HELO Plus devices using a tabbed web browser. After installation, using the WebUI, you can control your HELO Plus device with its front panel buttons and audio meters, via WebUI or using the REST API remote control.

Video and Audio support

HELO Plus supports HD and SD video formats up to 1080p60 with H.264/MPEG-4 encoding and 32-256 kb/s, 48 kHz, 2-channel stereo MPEG-4 AAC-LC audio.

SRT support

Supporting SRT, the open-source SRT video transport protocol optimizes streaming performance over unpredictable networks with secure streams and easy firewall passage, producing high-quality live video over the network. HELO Plus uses SRT (plus encryption) to deliver streaming video content safely with low latency and secure reliability.

Simultaneous Streaming and Recording

Stream and record up to 1080p60 video simultaneously in these combinations:

• Stream to two destinations and record to local SD card storage
• Stream to two destinations and record to local USB storage
• Stream to two destinations and record to NFS/CIFS network storage

Calendar integration

HELO Plus offers a scheduler that triggers pre-scheduled start/stop recording and streaming for AV, live events, webcasts, corporate communications, production and post projects that require definitive schedules. The schedule can be programmed locally via the HELO Plus web interface, import .ics files or link to external schedulers such as Google Calendar.

Layouts with Multiple Inputs

Use HELO Plus to combine multiple SDI and HDMI inputs into a single screen with a graphical element overlay of up to three layers. Each live video source can be scaled down for PiP use with internally generated mats placed over the PiP element. Up to 10 layouts can be stored and recalled in each of the 20 presets and 90+ images can be stored internally.

Dual Stream outputs

HELO Plus uses dual encoders for its stream outputs, providing the flexibility to create different output settings from a single input source. These two encoders can be set to different packaging settings and different output frame sizes, allowing a single content stream to be presented in two ways to serve a wider audience. A single stream can also be duplicated across both encoders for increased resilience. Either of these encoder outputs can also serve as the source for the HELO Plus recording system.
